You'd be surprised how many people enter the site from outside the homepage. I was one of them for awhile.(Auto-bookmarked my profile on another computer). So depending on the person, they might be entering someplace else.
^ This. I often enter on someone's storypage. I can't remember who it is, or what story, but they must have a lot of pageviews. :/
