Okay, so this isn't totally romantic, more like a...well, breakup! No duh, right? But some spots are chady, and the whole prank calling thing seems lame too me. But my friends thought it was funny, so, whatever. And the picture I just added because, well, it's an awesome car, right?! And in case anybody just needed to see what a 58' Red and White COnvertable(even though it's not convertivle in this pic, well, not down.) Corvette. But I thought it was kind of cute. so... leave reviews, critisism is good! Please like if you like, and please try to give me at least one pointer. Thanks friends. And it's the first time I've added a pic, so if it doesn't show up, I'm trying!

“I’m sorry Hanna, I just don’t think this is going to work out.” he said, cautiously. Do I blame him? Not at all, if I get too upset I can blow up like Mount St. Helens. Tears silently leaked from my eyes. He looked away, as if he couldn’t bear to see me sad. My lips curved up ever so slightly, but went back down when he looked back at me. “I really am sorry.”

As he walked away, I continued my charade because he kept looking back over his shoulder. But as soon as he disappeared around the corner, I jumped up. Wiping the few tears I had managed to squeeze out, I skipped to my parked car.

My car is awesome. It’s a 58’ convertible Corvette, red and white of course. Whenever I remember the morning of my sixteenth birthday, I smile. It used to my dad’s, but he said he wanted me to have it.

You know what else it was good for? Forgetting loser ex-boyfriends. Seriously, Cooper was a total waste of my time. I had wanted to break it off a month ago, but his mom died, I couldn’t do that to him!

Not even bothering to open the door, I jumped right over it. Adjusting the mirrors and plugging in my seat belt before slamming in the keys. The radio came blasting from the stereo, and guess what, I didn’t turn it down, like I always had to do because of Cooper’s sensitive ears. Instead, I changed the station from Kiss FM that was playing Baby by Justin Beiber, to the oldies station and listened to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

Ain’t that the truth!

With a little swagger in my movements, I pushed on my sunglasses, the ones Cooper said he hated. But I knew he just didn’t like it when other guys thought I was hot, which is what the sunglasses made me look. It felt good, the wind blowing my long, wavy, golden hair back. The feeling of being free.

Free.

And when I got home, instead of checking my e-mail for a message from Cooper about what we’d be doing Friday night, tonight, I took off my shoes and slid around the slippery floor with my socks. Putting some popcorn in the microwave, I remembered that I was going to be alone for the night. My mom and dad had gone out for a date night, wouldn’t be home until three in the morning.

“Yes!” I cried, pumping my fists into the air, above my head.

No more Cooper, no more parents, and since it’s a weekend, no more school! Could the day get any better?

But what should I do? I picked up the phone to call my friends over for a slumber party. Popcorn + movies + jammies + cell phones = PRANK CALLS! And the best ones were always to hot guys from school. Sometimes they would guess who it is, they would usually guess wrong. But once they actually guessed right.

“Um, hey, we have an order for a… Cooper Williams. Yes, your balls have arrived, when would you like to pick them up?” I started, speaking in a low man voice. It was the lamest one out there, but my friend Kasey insisted that we did it.

“Actually I just picked them up, Hanna.” He replied. I was surprised that he knew who it was, but then I remembered that I had used the same voice in gym that day.

“Really? Because we have a box here, it’s got your name on it.” I said, this time in my normal voice. I could hear him laughing on the other end.

“Well, maybe I stole them from the box, and left the box there so you wouldn’t know.” That time I laughed.

“Really? Because I didn’t think you had the balls to do that, I thought that was the reason you ordered them in the first place.” I continued to go along with him, even though all of my friends surrounding me were totally confused.

“No, I have them now.” He said in between laughs.

“Prove it.” There was silence. I didn’t know if I had insulted him, or what. “Do something you wouldn’t normally do because now you have balls.”

“Fine, Hanna, would you like to ditch the popcorn and the giggling friends, get dressed, and meet me at the movies in twenty?” he asked, calmly and collectively. I gasped, surprised and totally taken off guard. All of my friends nodded and I squeaked into the phone.

“Uh, yeah, sure!” I exclaimed.

“So lame!” I cried, letting it echo in the empty house. Picking up the nearest phone, I dialed my friend Lindsey.

“Hey Linds, you wanna come over tonight? Parents are out.” I asked, flopping down on the couch and turning on the TV.

“Nah, can’t, I’m going to the movies with Ty, remember? It’s Friday night Hanna, date night! What are you doing with Cooper?” she asked back. I could hear her gum smacking, my pet peeve, but I tried to ignore it.

“Well, we kinda split after school.” I said, hearing her gasp, then choke, then gulp. After a few seconds of silence, I wondered if she had totally inhaled her gum. “Linds?”

“I’m fine, just swallowed my gum.” She said, and then cried, “But why did you split? You two were totally perfect!”
I shrugged, not that she could see it. “Nah, I don’t really care anyway. I’m actually sorta happy.”

“Umm, okay, well, Gina and Kasey are going out tonight too, so maybe tomorrow would be better.”

“Oh, okay, yeah, that’s fine.” I tried to say without letting my disappointment seep out too much. I decided to stop the TV at Wipeout. “Well, I’ll see you later then.”

She hung up and I was forced to watch people sliding off of the big balls by myself. I remembered when Cooper first saw this show with me, he got really into it. Just the thought of it made me smile.

Picking up the phone, I dialed Cooper’s number, out of habit. When he didn’t answer, it sent me to the voice mail.

"Hey, it’s Coop, you know what to do!”

Why did I call him?

*Beep*

“Err, sorry Cooper, didn’t mean to call you. Habit, I guess… I’ll talk to you later, or, uh, see you Monday… I guess, bye.”

I hung up and all of sudden, it was like my chest burst into flames and I broke down crying. Why did he have to break up with me? What did I do wrong? Was it another girl? I dialed the number again.

“Hey, it’s Coop, you know what to do!”

*Beep*

“Hey Cooper, it’s Hanna, can you call me back? I’ve gotta talk to you… Well, bye I guess.”

All of my swagger was gone and I collapsed against the back of the chair. Changing the channel to Oprah, I smiled again. Cooper hated Oprah… oh no!

I turned off the TV and slugged over to my room, going through the kitchen to grab a bag of gummy worms, completely forgetting about the popcorn. Holding the phone in my hand, I curled onto a blanket and slumped onto my bed, chewing on a gummy worm.

“Why did I want this?” I asked myself, out loud. Who cares if I can’t listen to my music as loud as I want? Who cares if he doesn’t want other guys thinking I’m hot, I am his girlfriend, well, ex. Who cares if he gets to into Wipeout, or hates Oprah, or knows when I’m prank calling him. So what! I just want him back, if only to make me smile again.

Thanks again for any comments or reviews or critiques or anything else you'd like to call it!

Hiya, Pink here :)

Characters
This is quite short so I didn't get to get a very deep glance at your characters but you still provided enough description and knowledge to the point where I could actually understand their main conflicts and understand where they were coming from. There were a few parts where they contradicted themselves but I think that's just the fact that she wanted something and felt different once she got it, the break up I mean but it's confusing for me to explain it so take that comment with a grain of salt.

Plot
I like the plot, the idea of a story revolving around a break up is interesting. But I have to say, I really disliked the main character, she was mean and I couldn't exactly confer what she wanted. But, every character is different and I guess there are people out there like her and their stories deserve to be told to, anyways, in the end she was alright XD
Now, the plot itself I think could use some more jazz. It was like a string of events but they weren't executed to their full potential, I think if you added more description and made it a little longer it would have been better but all in all, it was different. I like how she realizes she loves him after it's over with...I just wish there was better explaination as to why they broke it off in the first place.

Grammar/ Punctuation
You're grammar was done well, there weren't many misspelled words or anything. Although, I did notice that you went on off your tenses here and there, I would advise you to go back and catch those pesky mosquitoes. I know, I had trouble with tenses in the past but it's not too hard after you understand them. If you ever need help you can always pm me, I'll try to help you out. Other than that, there weren't many errors, just a few that I saw but maybe someone else can point them out for you :)

Overall
The beginning was catchy and yes, the car is totally awesome!
There were a few scenes where I was left wondering where she was or who was with her, like when she was making the phone call, I suggest you make sure your settings are in place. Hopefully I didn't miss anything, I have a tendency to skip lines sometimes but I don't think I did. . .
Anyways, it was a good piece and it got a point across. I especially liked the ending where she finally got it, I almost wanted to say, "You shouldn't have wanted to break up with him!" But oh well, maybe they'll back together...in the sequel! Haha, just kidding. Overall, good job, I liked reading it :)

Hello there!

Here to review. :3

(thanks Kara for that)Your reader couldn't connect well with your main character since it's actually focusing on what is really the conflict about.) he said cautiously (cautiously? It would be really better if you had to show than do the telling part). Do I blame him? Not at all, if I get too upset I can blow up like Mount St. Helens. Tears silently (this is awkward to read. In my opinion, it doesn't make sense, how can you define a tear leaking from her eyes?)leaked from my eyes. He looked away, as if he couldn’t bear to see me sad. My lips curved up ever so slightly, but went back down when he looked back at me. “I really am sorry.” (When it comes to your introductory part, I don't quite like it. Just use less adverbs but rather show your character's feelings, actions and mood.)

As he walked away, (refrain from saying: "he looked back at me", "he turned away from me", "he walked away") I continued my charade because he kept looking back over his shoulder. My car is awesome. It’s a 58’ convertible Corvette, red and white of course. (Okay, this quite threw me off. How can someone say that her car is awesome after getting dumped by her boyfriend? Remember, the girl is supposed to feel down or something.)Whenever I remember the morning of my sixteenth birthday, I smile. It used to be my dad’s, but he said he wanted me to have it.

And plus, I don't remember the girl saying she had her phone in loudspeaker.)and I squeaked into the phone.

Okay. I have to say that the concept or the idea you have here is pretty good, even though it is kind of a cliche story. Don't worry though, just taking your reviewer's suggestion will probably help this turn into a good story. Anyways, I apologize if ever I was being so harsh. Those are just some nitpicks anyway that I hope could help you. And I honestly have to say that I had been a horrible writer but because of the awesome and helpful critiques I have received, it really helped me a lot especially when it comes to writing stories.

So, let's go to the characters. there's too much conflict or even happenings occurring here in your story. The flow of this story is fast, which could decrease the realistic credibility of this piece. Your main character is quite confusing. She says she was happy that Cooper and her already broke up but when I already reached the last part, she' was now crying. So really, what is the thoughts of Hanna? And sad to say, her friends weren't supportive enough, if they heard about Hanna's break-up then automatically, they should have ditched that movie date and comfort Hanna, even if to say Hanna was fine with it. Also, it would be really better, if you had describe more of Hanna's physical features. Describe her hair and everything, also let us connect with Cooper too.

One thing that I have noticed is that you rarely show and do more of the telling part. Let us feel sorry for her and not just to see that Hanna is sad. And talking about verbs, you sometimes switch tenses, so just watch out for those things. Punctuations are very important too.

Kicking aside those nitpicks and comments, I thank you for the read and this has potential. Just so, read this once again and look over into you story for some errors and everything. Hope I helped and PM me for questions. :D

Keep writing!

Peace out!

Okay..this had a good plot but to be honest I didn't feel the story enough..
I needed more inside emotion from the charchters..whether you were truly happy or was there a little niggling feeling that maybe you were wrong.. There shoud be a lot of what ifs in this kind of situation..Let me explain..
This is sorta my version/extract. Hate or I dunno but I'm only trying to help!!
What if Cooper was the only guy right for me and no one will ever be meant for me!? Ill be left a loner!
Maybe Cooper is the one who deserves me?! What if.. What If.. What if down inside I felt that there was a massive hole that only Cooper could fill!? I'd go on forever with a hole in my heart!!
What if inside I know no one will make me laugh or feel the Cooper does..
What if.. what if I THINK I LOVE COOPER?

You need to show depth to the charchters..some backround to her emotions.

The story was good though. I enjoyed the plot but there just wasn't that sense of.. of 3D to your story which I think is a shame.

Keep writing though,it has poteintial.

P.s Hope I helped. :D :D

Wow, this is soooo cool!! I didn't see anything wrong with it except... When she prank calls Cooper is that in the past or present?
