I’ll pretend that I’m ok
Even if I’m really not
Not matter what they say
And no matter what
I cannot let them know
How much it really gets to me
I cannot let it show
Then they’ll know that I am weak
And even if I can’t smile
At least I can breathe

Breathe easy, breathe deeply
Even if you can’t sleep tonight
Breathe easy, breathe deeply
Even if you know you’ve lost the fight
Breathe easy, breathe deeply
Keep holding on with all your might
Breathe easy, breathe deeply
And go on like everything’s alright

When it finally gets to you
I guess it’s hard to walk away
But the worst thing you could do
Is get caught up in the fray
When there’s nothing I can do
Will you please just promise me?
If you won’t breathe for you
Could you please just breathe for me?
And even if you can’t smile
I’ll know you can breathe

Breathe easy, breathe deeply
Even if you can’t sleep tonight
Breathe easy, breathe deeply
Even if you know you’ve lost the fight
Breathe easy, breathe deeply
Keep holding on with all your might
Breathe easy, breathe deeply
And go on like everything’s alright

Even if you’ve been cut wide open
Even if you can hardly move
Even if you feel like giving in
You’ve still got something left to prove
Even if it hits too close to home
Even if the words cut too deep
Even if everything else is broken
All you have to do is keep
Breathing
Breathing
Easy
Easy

Breathe easy, breathe deeply
Even if you can’t sleep tonight
Breathe easy, breathe deeply
Even if you know you’ve lost the fight
Breathe easy, breathe deeply
Keep holding on with all your might
Breathe easy, breathe deeply
And go on like everything’s alright
If I die young
bury me in satin
lay me down on a bed of roses
sink me in the river, at dawn
send me away with the words of a love song

On the sixth line, I think you should take out the word "really", so the line would read, "How much it gets to me".

I really like this poem, and I was wondering if it was not in fact a poem, but a song. It's something about the way, you're repeating the "chorus".... never mind. Great job, and keep on writing!

Wow, I really like this! I've also read some of you other songs and I think you are a much better writer than most of the pop singers getting all the fame today....you deserve the spot light a lot more than they do.

I love how you don't rhyme or follow any meter of anything but it still flows so beautifully. You've got talent!

WOW! Not only do you have a gift but you know how to use it. I expect one day you will be a song-writer and i'll be listening to every single one of your songs :) Great job.
