Shall I compare thee...to definitely not Shakespeare!
Poetry as archaic as the air;
Iambic pentameter and couplets,
Writing this poem is the task to bear,
Rhyming scheme and the Shakespearean sonnet.
Pen ambling across the page calmly;
Seeking subsequent rhyming verses;
Spewing, oozing, vast pools of imagery,
To convey the mood with apt word choices.
Adding the metaphor is the stuffing,
While the simile is like orange yam,
Deprived of them it is not worth feasting.
Quatrain, iambs there is no place to cram!
How did Shakespeare do this, one would mutter;
Hundred and fifty four sonnets, stunner!
