MY LIFE AS I KNOW IT

I know a lot about myself. I sure know more than most people. What I don’t remember, is a lot of my childhood. My parents have told me a lot, but the only thing I can remember is singing at 22 months. I don’t remember what I sang but I can remember the sensational feeling of making a sound that flowed together. At nearly two I doubt I sang any good, but about eleven years, five vocal teachers and many onstage performances later I think I am a great singer. I still have a lot to learn.
My family is a bit weird. My sister Ashley is 23 months apart from me and acts much older than she is. My mother Karen is short and as the old saying goes, “good things come in small packages.” I have a step-dad named Mark. He is from Minnesota. So my mom, sister, and I are his California girls. My dad, Erik is a lot like me. He and I sing, have curly hair, and love to give. I couldn’t ask for a better family.
My name is Sabrina. My uncle named me. I like my name because it means legendary princess. My dad always calls me princess and I am treated a lot like one. Although the only thing that stinks about having my name is that you rarely find it on key chains.
I am short at 5’1” and a little chubby. I work hard to get my weight down. I am going to be 14 soon and I can’t wait. I have had my first kiss and recently a boyfriend who to this day still remains a great friend. I have worked hard to keep strong, bonding friendships.
I will start form a baby. I was born August 12th, 1996 weighing a little more than 7 lbs. my birth literally made the news as it was printed in a news paper. I was born with hair on my head. And a year or two later came the curls. Ringlet curls beyond your wildest dreams. And a few years after that, goodbye curls, for my dad chopped them off. At about three I was performing in front of my family. I often made up songs that drowned on and on. At four years my parents got divorced and my mom got more custody. A year later I preformed my first solo in front of about 200 or so people. I always said there were two thousand people. I sang Away in a Manger. It is a memory still crisp in my head. A year later I started Kindergarten. There I met my best friend in the world, and began my seven year journey at elementary school.
Jenna is my best friend and we met one day at school in kindergarten. She was crying and I went up to comfort her, now eight, almost nine years later me and her are still just as close.
In first grade came Lia. She was small and silly, and Jenna, Lia and I became inseparable. She was always so fun.
Second grade was when I got boy crazy. Not that I already wasn’t but I had my first real hard crush. One, to this day I still have yet to get over all the way. Garrett, tall, tan and oh so athletic. Not to mention extremely popular. His popularity meant I was way out of his league. In second grade I also gained another strong bonding friendship with Amanda. The blonde hair blue eyed dreamer. She liked to keep to herself around more than one person usually. I liked her though.
Third grade the hormones although I was only ten I was very much in love with the idea of love. I was still crushing hard on Garrett. This was also a year of tragedy. My sister, now twelve was throwing hatred at my dad. Lia got hurt in the eye and then moved away without a single notification. Although with every great tragedy there is happiness. I got Natalie and Natalia as friends, as well as Kristyana. I also had my first kiss. It was with a boy named Steven. He wore a dodger’s cap and kissed me behind the hand ball wall. Then he cheated on me with my friend Erin
Fourth grade I hit a growth spurt. I was more shaped. I also began writing. It was probably the fastest most nothing filled year of my life.
Fifth grade though was close to filled with excitement. I became a woman, I had a crush on a sixth grader that turned into a disaster, and I got my first major solo. I sang in front over 500 people on a two night show. I was amazed at my talent. I loved it.
Sixth grade was a year to remember. My last year at my elementary school. I had to say goodbye. I loved my friends and no one really hated each other. The popular kids hung out with nerds. I got on the volleyball team. I had the chance to experience a year of fun before middle school.
Seventh grade; what a year. Everything was so new. I was in a competing choir, and a drama class. I was doing PE everyday. There was school dances. I made so many new friends. Thu, Nicole, Kierra, Chrissy, Jack, Alex, Jonathan, Lizeth, Fatima, Jerrel, Madison, Danielle, Chasity, Chelsea, Raina, they all stood by me. I sang in front of the school. I created woodwork in woodshop. One of the most memorable things in my seventh grade year was going out with Kaysen. He was sweet, funny and nice. Everything I wished for in a guy. I was so excited when he said he liked me. We broke up one of the last few weeks of school, but he and I are still very close friends.
This up coming year will be something to remember. Although half of it has gone, I can feel it in me that something big will happen. I just know it.

Not really sure if you wanted someone to critique this but as I have read through it and I got a couple of things to say thought I would just jot them down here for you.
This reads a bit like a list rather than a story and I found myself wondering why you were telling the reader everything instead of showing. Remember that you should show rather than tell it.
It also felt a little bit to quick, rushing through a list of entry points in a life each one starting with I, Me and My.
You obviously have a good grasp of how to tell a story and know how to put one together. I have read through some of your other stuff and I have seen this.
The beginning is very good, I thought it was defiantly catchy and I really liked that. There is room for improvement yes but there is a lot of potential in what you have written all you have to do is find your voice.

keep writing...

couple of suggestions bellow.

At nearly two I doubt I sang any good, but about eleven years, ( right - I doubt I sang any good - that line is a bit jumbled up, mostly tenses as some is in present tenses and some in past; I would watch out for that in the rest this just stood out to me. The use of the word good is jarring try restructuring the sentence like this - At nearly two I must admit I doubt I sang very well - or- At nearly two it was impossible for me to have been anything but a bad singer)

Five vocal teachers and many onstage performances later I think I am a great singer. I still have a lot to learn.  (think this bit would flow better if it was - I think I am a better singer but I still have a lot to learn)

Although the only thing that stinks about having my name is that you rarely find it on key chains.   (I found this bit jarring and hard to read. destroyed the flow you had going before, I would put it like this - The only thing i hate about having a name like mine is that I can never find it on key chains)
"i lost a little time, now i'm a little lost"
"i did not make the world i'm just trying to live in it"

Spiderman here.
I'm gonna point out a nitpick. I usually don't do grammar but this one just stood out annoyingly.
my birth literally made the news as it was printed in a news paper

Should be capitalized as My.
Anyway i'm assuming this is autoboigraphical and you have a very interesting life. Singing infront of a crowd with over 500 people .. I would never do that. ( I never really sing anyway :) )
Despite the lies that you're making
Your love is mine for the taking
My love is just waiting
To clothe you in crimson roses

I have to be honest with you. I didn't read past the first sentence of the fifth paragraph because I was bored out of my head. You simply bragged and listed the events of your life sort of like this was some autobiography. Why should we as readers be interested? What was your big accomplishment? Was there even one? This whole piece seemed more like a series of journal entries or something you'd tell Alex Trebek about yourself before playing Jeopardy. There was simply no entertainment value. Maybe you should add a plot or write about some climactic point in your life to make this more interesting.

I know a lot about myself. I sure know more than most people. What I don’t remember, is a lot of my childhood. My parents have told me a lot, but the only thing I can remember is singing at 22 months.

Wait a minute. First you brag about how much you know about yourself and then you say you can't remember most of your childhood. So what do you remember? You're only fifteen, for crying out loud. Besides, your whole story seems to go on about your childhood memories. I don't know what's true and what's not true. Change the opening.

Well, I hope that wasn't too harsh. Keep trying and keep writing.

Uh, Lisa, the whole reason we have elected officials is so we don't have to think all the time. Just like that rainforest scare a few years back: our officials saw there was a problem and they fixed it, didn't they?
