Grey: Beyond the Dashboard



Editing: Dialed down the saturation, along with a bit of sharpening. (Photoshop)

Editing: There was a pole or something right in the middle of the picture. I edited it out using Photoshop. I upped the contrast a bit too.

Red: The Beginning

I like the first one a lot. I like how it is in grey and has a fuzzy dream like quality to it.

I don't much like the second picture because I don't see the point. It's a nice picture but I don't get why you were motivated to take a picture of it. I also don't think you should have messed with the contrast. It seems to have a odd tint. I would like to see the original because I think that one might be better.

I like the third one. I think you took a picture of the door at a interesting angle. Of course you shouldn't play with angle too much which you don't as shown with your previous two pictures.

Overall I liked them.

1) I don't really like this one. It isn't terribly original, and the focus is not very good. Everything just looks blurry--almost like a cell-phone picture as opposed to a more professional-looking shot. It's also a little staticky. There is no real focus to this, just a hum drum of general activity.

2) This, I think, would be nicer if it were crisper. Even so, I think it's a little overbalanced, with too much of the focus resting on the copse of trees to our left. It just seems heavy, with not enough blue sky and field to counteract the drastic contrast on that side.

3) This would be my favorite of the three. Again, the focus leaves something to be desired. I also think that the handprint is unnecessary--I didn't even see it until I looked really hard for it. It just doesn't stand out enough to be a point of interest. Instead, the fuzzy red door just overwhelms the eye, and we just sort of skim over the wooden part of the photo. But I do think this is your strongest photo.

Shepherd: Gah. You caught me. I shot all of these with my 3 mega pixel camera on my phone. My camera is broken and I'm currently saving for a new one. Thanks for the criticism!
