I played the original games when I was 9/10, but since then I haven't followed anything although I've seen some of the new pokemon. Can't say I like their looks as much as the originals.

I've been playing the Pokemon games since before I could read (for a text based game, seems impossible, but the names were memorable enough and when you memorized what attack is used by which button you point the arrow, it isn't that hard). I still remember my neighbor Steven taught me everything I know to start. As time has passed, I had some thoughts on the recent hatred of the series...although, I had an apithany a while back thanks to a webcomic; and unlike everybody I've talked to, it changed me.

I've loved Pokemon since I was a kid because I was a kid, and I still am. We aren't the target audience; they're kid's games, and I love them to death as they come along, being the kid I want to be, as I always have. And I've got the Politoed in my original Crystal Version to prove it with, as well as a recreated one in Heart Gold.

Spoiler
EDIT: Francis, you're using OU pokemon in a team...of course they kick ass. Just keep in mind that you're using the unoriginal.

I am, perhaps worringly, unashamed to admit that I own or have owned at least one of the Pokémon games from each generation for the Nintendo handhelds. I started off with Red, followed by Silver, followed by Crystal, then Sapphire, then LeafGreen and FireRed, then Diamond and Pearl, then Platinum and most recently HeartGold and SoulSilver. Currently I have a 95% full Pokédex on Platinum. I own two seperate Nintendo DSs, although my little sister often uses one; hence the double games later on. I have also watched all of the anime episodes and movies.

When I was much younger and still at primary school I used to own the Pokémon cards, I gave my collection away to a son of a friend of the family however.

I am also looking forward to the release of the 5th Generation. I like Pokémon. It's one of the few franchises that I think I'll always like, no matter how old I am.

GENGAAAAR!!

...ahem, sorry.

I have my very first Pokemon from my copy of Ruby on my Soulsilver...level 70-something Swampert. I love that thing to death...I would rather delete all of my save files on all of my Pokemon games than get rid of that beast.

Bump this thread.

All my friends think i'm insane, but I LOVE Pokemon! My first video game ever was fire red. I beat it when I was 7-8, my Charizard was at level 100. I still play the games, but I just can't get into the newer anime. Yea I mostly train eeveelutions, but I am trying to get a shiny Charizard. I guess he'll always be my favorite Pokemon.

Pokemon is fantastic. I loved it as a kid, then got away from it. When I was 19 I had my wisdom-teeth removed during the summer and was down and out for like two weeks, most of which was spent playing the Ruby version on an emulator online while I was dazed out on painkillers and I couldn't believe how addicted I got (to Pokemon that is, not the painkillers).

If I had the money I'd probably buy a DS just to play the new ones that are coming out.

P.S. Arcanine and Starmie make a badass team ;)
