Ok guys, I am gonna try and jump into something new and exciting. I don't know how well this will go over, but I hope this ends well. It will probably be longer than usual, but I'm really not sure, so tear it to shreds with reviews!

Explanations, life is full of them, and the explaining that J.C. is doing right now means the difference between forgetting and painful remembering. The words buzz through my mind as I hear him explaining how everything works.

"Ok, this is where you put the weed and where you light it."

I already know this. It's not like I haven't done this before, it just didn't work. My mind wonders off in annoyance. I remember the time my friend Ava came over and brought some weed with her. We smoked it, but it didn't effect me. She was high as a kite though. I guess all the years of smoking it made her able to use the weak stuff. Not me though, no ordinary stuff will work for me.

"You see this hole on the side?"

Him questioning me directly brings my attention back. I look at the carving in the side of the can that he is pointing to.

"Yea," I reply simply.

"When you light it you cover this with you thumb, after you have breathed in as much as you can you let off the hole and breathe in again."

Panic overwhelms me again as I remember, I can't light a lighter! My brain freezes and I can't get the nerve to tell him. What if he thinks I am a idiot for not being able to do this? Most people can light a lighter. Well I guess I have to tell him or I'm not going to get anywhere.

"Um, J.C.?"

"Yeah?"

"I can't light a lighter, last time I tried I burned the shit out of my finger," I sputter out. I remember yet again when Ava came over and forced me to use a lighter. I was high enough not to feel the pain, but it still wasn't worth it.

"Ok, I'll light it for you."

I can feel the tension relieve immediately when he says this. His midnight eyes glimmer back at me.

"Are you ready?"

I know that nothing could ever truly prepare you for something like this. I wonder how I will act, what I will say. It makes no difference as long as I don't tell them, as long as I don't let them find out who I really am. If they knew the real me they would be five thousand miles away by now, never wanting to speak to me again. I reflexively look down to the remains of my arm. What years of mutilation has done to me, only scars now, not very noticable, but still I hide my arm. Even that is small compared to the secrets I hold inside.

"Yes. I'm ready."

He gives me a quick demonstration and then hands the used can to me. I stare at it for a moment and then lift it to my moist lips.

There is no way to explain how it feels to be high, but after numerous rounds of passing the can between the three of us I was high. At first I could feel a slight fog in the back of my head. Later just remembering I had a head was a challenge. The fights between me and my mom were soon forgotten, the silence between me and my dad lays at rest. I don't think about the many things that flood my mind every day, and depression doesn't seep in on me. Tonight will be different, I will not cry myself to sleep, tonight will be fun.

Fun is not a word you would use to describe driving when your high. I scooted up between the two front seats and stared out the window. I suppose if you are going to ride with an underage driver that has been smoking pot, you might as well screw seat belts too. I stare at the road before us and notice a giant curve ahead. Usually this wouldn't be a big deal, but as the curve went left we went straight. Waiting for the impact of the crash I hide my face on J.C.'s seat. I wait for another minute, but nothing happens. I look up again and we are still on the road. Again and another curve looms before us and yet again we go straight.

"I'm seeing curves that aren't there J.C."

He looks back at me and smiles, to me this seems more like a mock though.

"I think your pretty fucked up," he let a small laugh slip from his lips.

"Yea, I am."

I feel anger flush my face as I realize he doesn't care that it looks like we are all going to die every second.

"So where should we go," Clark asks?

"What about that haunted church we went to," J.C. replies?

As he says this, haunted memories flood my mind. Memories of the women and children that have haunted me for years. Memories of the ghosts that never leave me, and the nightmares they leave behind. Memories of the marks left on my body after a unrestful night with the dead.

"No," I almost scream but soon recover myself.

"Well then you have two options."

"Anything but a haunted church."

I hear the laugh in his voice as he replies to me.

"We can go vandalizing, or I can surprise you, your pick darling?

Part 4 ~

Surprise or vandalism? I hate surprises, I have always hated them. No reason in particular I just hate surprises.

"Oh, and by the way, we will be doing both, so it doesn't really matter what you pick."

What luck, my only ride home wants to go vandelizing.

"Vandalizing I guess."

"No." "Your to scared to go vandalizing and do any good, I think option two will be better."

I don't reply to him, and he doesn't care. I lay my head back on his seat, wondering what the night holds for me.

We've been driving for what seems like hours, and neither of them has said a word. Then out of nowhere I see a huge abandoned building. I feel the car stop below me and I wonder what he has in store for me now. I see J.C. get out of the car, so I hop out as well. I maneuver my way over to J.C., and plant myself as close as possible to him. Clark is still sitting motionless in the car.

"Isn't he coming," I ask?

"No." "Just me and you, oh and a few ghosts."

He laughs at his joke, but I don't think it's funny.

"Ladies first," he commands.

I start my way up to the door of the old house. This is so stupid why am I doing this? Then I remember my ride home. I check to make sure he is still behind me, but I find myself alone. I look at Clark sitting alone in the car, he gives me a nod to go in. I open the door and listen to the creaking it makes as it reveals what the house holds. Nothing much to the old place, dust, an old stairway, oh and of course the old piano's you see in the movies. They should even consider using this place for a horror movie.

I start walking through the house but stop to look at an old picture hanging on the wall. That's when I hear the sound of footsteps behind me. I turn and look, but nothings there. Maybe it's just my nerves, I think to calm myself. No. This is no mind game, footsteps are behind me, and whatever is making them is almost to me. I turn around and a face appears before my eyes! I want to scream, I want to run, but I can't. Then out of nowhere two hands grip me from behind. I can feel the blood run from my face when I hear the familiar voice.

"Relax."

His grip on me doesn't loosen, and I am happy because I know I would fall to the floor if he let go.

"What are you trying to do!" "You just scared the shit out of me!"

He turns me around gently, gazing into my eyes, but his eyes show no apology. My stomach flutters because I know what happens next. His face leans into mine, and I catch it with my lips. Our mouths move in a steady flow, until he breaks it off.

"Will you ever forgive me?"

"I'll think about it," I laugh.

My reality comes to a close as I once again realize that you don't love me, and even if I love you with my everything you will never care.

and the explaining that is being done right now means the difference between

This didn't exactly make sense to me, even after rereading it twice. Maybe try rewording.

I already know this, it's not like I haven't done this before, it just didn't work.

Period after 'this' instead of a comma to make this two different statements. Why didn't it work the first time? Was she frustrated with this?

Him talking to me directly brings my attention back.

Wasn't he talking directly to her just a moment ago? Why does she have such add, why can't she focus?

I can't light a lighter!

Urm, what? Maybe the first time she tries, she'd get burnt. But she'd be used to it, or at least he'd know this and do it for her? Maybe? That'd be cute.

last time I tried I about burned my finger off,"

Where is she from? The way she words this is very formal, and teens most likely do not speak like this.

I wonder how I will act, what I will say.

Careful! Your MC could get a bad high! :D

charred remains of my arm.

Her arms? Hmm...I know that is the typical place, but if she doesn't want them to find out, maybe she should have it in a more personal part of her body. I've heard of people doing that on their thighs, stomach, ankles. They are places on the body that are not easily seen and scar. And, if you do continue with the arm, wouldn't she hide it? Sweatshirts, thick bracelets?

you might as well screw seat belts too.

Not necessarily. You could be overly paranoid. Or maybe the driver is better at driving when he/she is high. ... Ugh, I hate how I know this... :?

At the word haunted memories flood my mind.

You should read your work out loud and look for pauses in your voice. There should be a comma after 'word'.

I didn't quite get the point for this chapter. You didn't get much done here as far as plot goes. You didn't develop any more to the relationship she has with JC. It was too short and too lacking in details for me to get the gist. Sorry to say, this wasn't your best. I've pointed out some holes in the story, and I'm hoping you can read them and answer them in your writing. Readers don't want to be asking questions.

As far as what I liked, her getting high was detailed, although it was a pretty bad high. I'm not sure if what she smoked would have made her see things, especially in the dark. If anything, she'd be light headed and laughing hysterically at her own hysteria. Anyways, keep the dialog going, I want to hear more of them talking. Good luck.

Hey there, Flower! I'm here to review part three like you asked. All of my comments and corrections will be in pink.

Explanations. Life is full of them, and the explaining that is being done right now means the difference between forgetting and painful remembering. The words buzz through my mind as I hear him explaining how everything works. This seems kinda like an awkwar place to start off from th last chapter. From the ending of the last part it makes the reader feel like they are about to jump into something. And then here, at the beginning of the third part, there is this really wierd thing. I'm not quite sure what to make of it.

"Ok, this is where you put the weed and where you light it."

I already know this, and it's not like I haven't done this before. It just didn't work the first time. My mind wanders off in annoyance. The way this sentence is worded makes it seem like her mind is a person that is stomping away. It seems odd to me.

"You see this hole on the side?"

Him talking to me directly brings my attention back. That seems awkward. Maybe think about changing it to something like:Then I noticed that he was talking to me directly, so I quickly snapped to attention. I look at the carving in the side of the can that he is pointing to.

"Yes," I reply simply.

"Um, J.C.?"

"Yeah?"

"I can't light a lighter, last time I tried I about burned my finger off," I sputter out. Hm. Unless she's missing a finger, she didn't do that. I probably wasn't even that bad, but if you want her to be the kind of character that often exaggerates then keep it. Also, that's really stupid. Why can't she light a lighter? Is she mentally challenged? (I think I asked that in an earlier part, and it's really starting to seem like it.)

"Ok, I'll light it for you." He won't question why she can't do this? It's relatively simple. All you do is flick your thumb. Anyway...

I can feel the tension leave almost instantly when he says this. His midnight eyes glimmer back at me.

"Are you ready?" Who says this? I got confused because if it was J.C. then you should connect those last two sentences and his dialogue with this. If it's supposed to be the girl (sorry I can't remember her name. Did you even say it?), then this would be fine.

I know that nothing could ever truly prepare you for something like this. I wonder how I will act, what I will say. It makes no difference as long as I don't tell them, as long as I don't let them find out who I really am. If they knew the real me they would be five thousand miles away by now, never wanting to speak to me again. I reflexively look down to the charred remains of my arm. It is what the years of mutilation have done to me, and even that is small compared to the secrets I hold inside. The charred remains of her arm? I don't think that's the right kind of picture that you're painting. It makes it seem like there's burnt flesh hanging off and her skin is all crisp and nearly nonexistent. And if this is the case, wouldn't the boys be flipping out? Also, since it doesn't seem like she's covering her arm, wouldn't her parents know about it and take her to the ER?

"Yes. I'm ready."

He gives me a quick demonstration and then hands the used can to me. I stare at it for a moment and then lift it to my moist lips.

There is no way to explain how it feels to be high, but after numerous rounds of passing the can between the three of us I was high. At first I could feel a slight fog in the back of my head. Fun is not a word you would use to describe driving when your high. I scooted up between the two front seats and stared out the window. I suppose if you are going to ride with an underage driver that has been smoking pot, you might as well screw seat belts too. I really doubt that this is her motivation behind not wearing a seat belt at the time. It seems more like something she would say looking back at that night. I stare at the road before us and notice a giant curve ahead. Usually this wouldn't be a big deal, but as the curve went left we went straight. Waiting for the impact of the crash, I hide my head in J.C.'s seat. xD How did her head get in his seat. Don't you mean she hid against J.C.'s seat? I wait for another minute, but nothing happens. I look up again and we are still on the road. I look again and another curve looms before us and yet again we go straight.

"I'm seeing curves that aren't there J.C."

I feel anger flush my face as I realize he doesn't care that it looks like we are all going to die every second.

"What about that haunted church we went to," J.C. replies.

At the word haunted, memories flood my mind. Memories of the women and children that have haunted me for years. Memories of the ghosts that never leave me, and the nightmares they leave behind. Memories of the marks left on my body after a restless night with the dead. Umm...

"No," I almost scream but soon recover my normal voice level. This seems wierd saying as she says she almost screams. And why would she need to recover her voice level? She didn't lose it did she? xD

"Well then you have two options."

"Anything but a haunted church."

I hear the laugh in his voice as he replies to me.

"We can go vandalizing, or I can surprise you, your pick darling?

All in all,
This is a bit better than the last section, but there still doesn't seem to be anything really happening. Really there's nothing wrong with it, but it's quite uninteresting to be blunt. All of the rest of my comments are up there.^

PM me if you have any questions. Keep writing!

Always,
~Danie

Hello, thanks for PMing me about it. I'll only review part four since all my comments for part three have been looked at. On we go.

"Oh, and by the way, we will be doing both, so pick your poison."

:?: this confused me a bit. Why would he have her choose if they are just doing both anyway? Wouldn't it more like, which does she want to do first?

What luck, my only ride home wants to go vandelizing.

Could she be a bit more carefree? She did choose to go out with them therefore she must know the types of boys they are. I'm not saying have her be jumping for joy about it, but at least have her be mellow and not paranoid.

"No." "Your to scared to go vandalizing and do any good, I think option two will be better."

You do this a few times with your quotation marks. How come you close them around 'No'? You don't need that break there. It's in on quote.

Then out of nowhere I see a huge abandoned building. It's the only thing in a miles radius so I figure this was the, "Surprise," he was talking about. Just as I figured, he stops the car in front of the creepy abandoned building and gets out.

This seems very assuming for your MC, and you don't want that. Do not let her 'figure' anything. Have her see it, have her react to it, then have J.C. say that they have arrived. And when I say 'react' i mean freak the $&@% out. Kay? :D

"No." "Just me and you, oh and a few ghosts."

Again, with the quotes.

I am all but forced to get out of the car, but I don't really care anymore.

You are contradicting yourself here. If she doesn't care, she wouldn't have to be forced. Maybe she was aided because she was so dizzy, that might happen.

I turn and look, but nothings there.

I turn around and a face

The way you have this paragraph worded, she just did a complete 360 turn. Have her either turn back to the way she was facing before, or make it known that J.C. was actually in front of her.

I can feel the blood run from my face when I hear the familiar voice.

:? This confused me, big time.

His grip on me doesn't loosen, and I am happy because I know I would fall to the floor if he let go.

I vote rewording this. His grip on my arms does not loosen. I am forever grateful for this because I know that if he did, my body would go limp and I'd fall to the *Dirty/moldy/stinky/icky/blah* floor. Play with that a little.

"What are you trying to do!" "You just scared the shit out of me!"

First off, quotes. You are killing me here. Second, who is saying this? If it's your MC, have something about her body prove that she is scared. Uneven breathing, shaking, quivering, heart pounding, sweat trickling down her neck. Something?

My stomach flutters because I know what happens next.

Again, she is assuming and this turns your readers off. Have her hope for what is about to happen next.

Alrighty, we got somewhere, sorta. Keep going, have more going on cause your pace is glacier. The romance was good, but we could always use more of that. I just realized I never finished my breakfast because I got so into your review. Hope I helped, see you around.

Now the biggest issue I have with this story is that so far, it's all kind of boring. There's barely any conflict at all, and I don't even really know the main character, or any of the other characters for that matter. Like I assume J.C. is her boyfriend, but I don't know that for sure. I would really like to know more about the character, and what her normal life is like when she's not sneaking out of her house to get high. Also the descriptions I think might need a little work. But those are the two main things you need to work on.

Good luck, and keep writing!
