The Angels of WWII

Took this picture at the WWII memorial in D.C, I love the way it came out! Let me know what you think

The angle that you took the picture at is very good, because above, there's a very bright light coming from the roof. It's almost like heaven or something like that. Very nice work, keep... photographing.

I agree with Vasticity, you've caught this at a very nice angle. It looks a little bit unbalanced - everything's leaning to the left, but it kind of works. The perspective's definitely interesting
That said, wow, those wings look magnificent. I have such a thing for properly-defined feathers and wings...

Jagged - Yeah, I took this while I was walking to where we were supposed to meet the rest of my class and we were kinda late, so I literally took as a passerby. I think it came out pretty darn good for one though The memorial is beautiful! The angels were only part of the beauty.

Hey hun. This is a nice shot with a nice angle. The biggest problem with it is that it's a very tourist-like shot.
It seems like a tourist, who's gone somewhere very nice. And is trying to take a nice shot to share. It's not very clean, or well composed. It seems like you just looked up.

If you ever do go back, try to zoom a little bit, with making it burry and center yourself right where the two wings meet. And then look up. Focus on the intersection of the two wings. And try to get as little of the concrete/blocks in the picture. Then you would have a much better composition and it would look a lot cleaner and less tourist-y.

Wowsers Irish! This is a really wonderful picture.

The only thing I could say that would have made this picture would have been to see a little more of the pillars. Like, what would be extending below the main part of the monument. I think it would have added some extra dimention to the image.

Still, what you have here is very romantic and even a little other worldly!

Kamas - It was a tourist shot xD Like I said to Jagged, I was walking by, running late, and happened to snap this picture. I love the way it came out personally, the way the light hits it, but I see what you mean. If I do go back one day, I probably will, I will hopefully remember what you said.

Lily - Thank you so much Yeah, I'm not too happy with the pillar either. And lol, I never thought of it as romantic but now that you mention it, I see it.

I really love this picture because my neighbor who passed away a couple years ago fought in WWII. It was very sad and sentimental walking there and I feel this was his way of saying hello to me.

EDIT: I just realized...I think the angels are actually owls xD I'm not sure though.

I have to agree with Kamas though, it does look somewhat like a touristy picture.

Otherwise though, I like it.

Hey, Irie! I'll answer your question and say, yes, those are owls--or some kind of bird--not angels. It stinks, though, because I have a special kind of love for angels, for reasons you can probably guess, and I was excited to see them.

As for the picture...I'm not going to sit here and repeat everything that these guys have said; obviously there's no point to that. I will say, however, that the only redeeming qualities of this would be the wing detail and the color contrast. Otherwise, it might have been a little boring.

Oh, noes! I'm being harsh to my friend. Still, I enjoyed...looking at it? xD I would love to have been there.

Oh! This is really cool. I think it's been said, but your angle does lean a little. It's not straight-up, it leans more to the left side. But this is very pretty! I sort of wish the tree wasn't in the background, but there's nothing you can do about that, eh?
