Here are two of my latest paintings. Click on them to make the images full-sized.

Still Wandering

I did this all with an ink pen and then took a wet paintbrush to give it that smeary look. This was my first time experimenting with that, so some parts a bit messy. The words on there are my own. I'm sure someone else has said something of a similar context, but yeah. They're my own.

The Warmth and the Summertime

This is done with black sharpie, ink pen, and water colors. I submitted this one to the visual poetry contest held by lilymoore. You guys should check it out.

Like. Oh. My. Gosh. Holly! :O
These are great, just great. I especially like the first one. It's so awesome. The second one is as well, I just adore the first one, though.
Lovely job.

Hi Holly

Firstly great job! The Warmth and the Summertime is my particular favourite. I just love the mix of red and black. The face and hair is also very good!

As to Still Wandering, I like the cloth and wind. My only nit pick is that I think the arms feel a little too long. But people are hard and this is a great attempt!

Wow. These are really good. And you did this with pen? That, in itself, is intensely impressive. I don't really have any nitpicks, except that I wish these were bigger, especially since I can't really read the first one at all.
Anyway, these were really good.

Very nice! I love your style, it's cool. My only real nitpick is: could you please make these bigger? Then perhaps I could find more things to critique. From what I can see though, these are very nice, and I'm impressed you did them in pen. Keep drawing!

Hey there, Bittersweet. Long time no talk, maybe I'll send you a PM sometime. =D

These are both really lovely, much better than anything I can do, especially with the tools you were using to create them. For the first picture, Still Wandering, I really like the way you drew the ribbons and her hair. For the second one I like her lips and her hair the best. =D

I really have nothing to correct on these, so great job, Holly. Keep up the wonderful work, you have a brilliant talent. :)

Yeah, I agree completely. The arm is far too long. If it weren't in pen, I would change it.

Thank you, everyone! You all are wonderful.

Holly!
As always, your artwork is beautiful. I love the gray tones in Still Wandering. The shading in the clouds and her hair are lovely. The only little nitpick I have is that you could have given her some more shape to make her look more realistic.
The Warmth and The Summertime is beautiful. I love the details in her face and the way her hair is blowing. The red is a nice contrast behind the words.
Well done.

Hey Holly. Well, since the second picture is the contest submission, I won’t even worry about it right now but I will say a few things, good things :D, about the first one.

First off, I love the words here. They are powerful and they have a lovely meaning.
And as far as the image goes, it’s lovely as well. The way the ribbons float are realistic for the style and the background is simple, clean, and not too distracting.
Even the girl is well done. I love her pose though her arms do seem a bit stiff but oooh well.

So yeah, I can’t wait to really evaluate the second picture.

These are sweet! Especially since they were made with pen and paint I would never be able to do anything as good as that (Not that I would ever be able to do anything like that with pencil either). Pencil is my weapon.
Still Wandering is my favorite because of what you say is true. I like the way you wrapped the ribbon around her, and how it flows off to the side with the wind. The shading is well-done. The dress suits her great and the moon & clouds add depth, I think so, to the picture. I agree the arm is a bit long, but it looks good. Nice hand, by the way, the way you positioned it is real good.
The Warmth and the Summertime is beautiful. What you say in this one is amazing, and makes me want to do the same as she is doing. Her eye arena is very realistic, in a way. Her lips are nicely-shaped, but a bit of light on it would have been nice (if you know what I mean). Her hair is lovely. The shading in this one is good like the first one. And I love the mixture of colors.
Both amazing works, Holly, I would love to see more of your style :)

Hey Bittersweet! These are awesome. :D

Actually, my favorite is the second one; there's a lot more color and detail in the background for me to look at. Great job on both of them, though!

My only nitpick, for the future, that is, would be to add more natural background to your artwork. For example, I can see the clouds in the background of the first one, but what kind of light is hitting them? Is the sun rising, setting (that would be awesome!), or is it dark out? I understand that you might not have been shooting for that with the first, but I would like it anyways. :P

Keep doing this!
