That first night I met Jack, he was on the brightly coloured dance floor as I entered with Lucy. He was with his best friend: Luke. Jack was dancing up next to me but I never really thought anything about it as Lucy wanted him and I fancied Luke but I did keep saying Jack was the better looking one.
That second night I met him we were sitting on a cold stone step, him telling me how Luke really liked me and trying to set me up on a date with him. He whom was currently perch on a window sill across the cobbled street. I asked him, “Do you like me?”. He said he did but it was all right that I liked Luke more. He asked me why I thought he was the better looking one: it was his dark brown hair, dark brown eyes and the stubble that appeared on the lower half of his face oppose the the freshly shaven, blond and blue eyes of Luke.
After that we talked on Facebook chat. About how he had the devilish reputation and Luke was more of an angel. He started texting me. We talked long into the night more then I ever had with Luke. That third night I met him, just after he'd asked me why I chose Luke over him, I kissed him drunkenly on the dance-floor in front of all our friends when Luke was out of the room. They were calling me "easy" because I went straight back to Luke when he re-entered. I kept seeing him looking longingly in my direction and that permanent smile disappearing from his face. He put it down to having too much to drink.
That fourth night I met him we fell out. I jokingly told him I wasn't talking to him. He took it seriously, we argued about why. He'd told Luke that he would kiss me if Luke didn't. Neither of them did.
That fifth night I met him I spotted him across the room and poked him in the back just as he was about to text me to to see if I'd arrived. The two blond girls that were talking to him disappeared as he diverted all his attention to me. He stuck up for me when people were being mean, held my hands out in front of me and made me promise I'd ignore it. We danced our silly routines to songs. I sat on his knee then got wet in the rain running to the next bar. We kissed, his lips softly touching mine. We danced. He told me Luke only ever wanted someone when he was drunk, that he was the one who really liked me. He called me 'Baby'. We danced; foreheads pressed tightly together, each singing over-dramatically. We kissed. He said I was 'gorgeous'. We pinky promised we we're just good friends before I made sure he got home alright because he was too drunk. I'm now waiting for that sixth night I meet him.
