This is just a short prologue to introduce the story. I haven't included too much detail because that will be drawn out in the main parts when I get round to writing them. Critique encouraged. ^^
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maps. Compasses. Technology. All of these have resulted in discovery in the Universe.

However, there is one place that isn't recorded on any map, not found by any compass, not even accessed by the human imagination. A place that follows death, neither heaven nor hell, but the Spirit World.

Tucked away to the east was a dark, damp area, abundant with sparkling crystals. It seemed like a quiet and peaceful place, and for the habitant inside, it needed to be. A young-looking, blue-robed woman was in the middle of having a vision. They often came to her, so it was nothing new, but on this occasion, she was feeling rather pleased with herself due to the fact that she'd managed to will the vision to come.

However, pride soon turned to regret when all she could see was darkness. She could make out a single, fragile looking silouhette, laying on the floor almost motionless. She saw herself, approaching the fallen, her expression showing fear and disbelief, as if she knew who had fallen and not being able to believe the outcome. The young woman bent down, placing a hand on the chest of the figure.

“Whose work was this?”

“Who did you think.....we finally got our way...”

The young female suddenly snapped out of the vision, sweating due to fear and shock. A vision of that calibre had never come to mind before, so this first occurrence worried her immensely. Those three voices...she'd hoped to never hear that posh spoken tone, the tired, old muttering, that egotistical whine. She had to keep breathing heavily to stop herself going hysterical, as her wrapped hands shakily removed the hood from over her head. Her blonde plaits fell in front of her, slightly whacking her in the face but this was just mere nuisance.

She'd tried her hardest not to cry, but now she couldn't help herself as the tears stung her delicate face.

She could hear footsteps in between her sniffles. A rather posh-looking spirit approached, his cane tapping the floor as if he had three feet instead of just two. He removed his top hat when he got close to her. Whether this was because he was always this polite or because he was in the presence of one more important than him was unknown, but not wearing it always took years from his face, making him appear more younger.

“Salifraga.....what was it? What could you have possibly seen to upset you so much?” he asked, softly.

She looked up, as if she was trying to tell a force up on high to change fate. She was still trembling, her voice shaking as she tried to speak.

“Alexxiion....this could be it. This could be it....for Keyres.....”

Hi FreakyDeaky! I'm Earthfire, and I'll be your reviewer today.

I really liked this story. It's original and the beginning caught my attention right away. :smt001 Great job!

The only thing that I got confused about is kind of small:
Tucked away to the east was a dark, damp area, abundant with sparkling crystals.

When I read this, I wondered, to the east of what? Could you please clarify that?

Again, this was great. PM me when you post more, and keep writing!

'She had to keep breathing heavily to stop herself going hysterical, as her wrapped hands shakily removed the hood from over her head. Her blonde plaits fell in front of her, slightly whacking her in the face but this was just mere nuisance.'

This paragraph was kind of 'eh.' 'She had to keep breathing heavily to stop herself going hysterical...' It sounds a little odd to me. At the very least, I think you need to add a 'from' between herself and going. 'slightly whacking her in the face but this was just mere nuisance.' Need a comma after face, I think, and 'just mere nuisance?' It sounds a little odd...

You used 'posh' twice in the space of three paragraphs? :\ I guess it could work, but there are other words you could use, and I think 'posh' might be just a unique enough word that it could get repetitive, distracting, etc. if used too much.

'making him appear more younger.' 'More young', or 'younger', but never more younger. XD

Other than those things, this was pretty good. I'm interested, but like Earthfire mentioned, I'd like a little more clarification on some things, like the setting. With a little polishing, I think this could be a great start to an interesting story. Keep working on it. ;)
