'Clause' doesn't necessarily have to refer to the legal provision! I think it's pretty appropriate for a writer's site Santa to be Santa Clause, for, you know, subordinate clauses and independent clauses, the grammatical formations within sentences. =D Word play.
"Let's eat, Grandma!" as opposed to "Let's eat Grandma!": punctuation saves lives.
