sabradan: Um, I don't know about birthright, I do have some Israeli in me (my great grandfather was from Israel) but I went with my professor. We were there for educational purposes, which made it ten times better because I LOVE history, and that country is SOAKED in it.

I don't post alot of pics of me because I like to take pictures of other things.

You have no idea how officially rocking you are in my oppinion of you now. My oppinion of you was already decently good, and now it just skyrocketed! Anyone who: a. loves Israel or b. IS Israel (like myself) gets special kudos.

Where in Israel is your grandpa from? I'm from Kibbutz Erez, northwest of Gaza, in the south, but north of the negev. If you know where Yad Mordechai is, Erez is across the road from Yad Mordechai.

We don't know where he's from, actually. He came to the States and had a lot of problems. (He was abusive to my grandmother, he was her father...an alcoholic, etc.) I mean, we know he's from Israel (and least he said he was, we don't have a birth certificate or anything official, but my brother looks very Israeli...I didn't realize it until I got back), but we don't know from what part. Did you grow up in a Kibbutz? We did go to the Negev, I'm trying to remember where. I have no former training in Hebrew or Israel apart from the Bible, and so the names are really difficult besides the ones that I'd formerly known (Capernaum, Jeruselum, Tel Dan, Gath, Megiddo, etc.) It was shocking to me how green it was. Because I always pictured it desert (and it was in the South) but everywhere else was so green! And beautiful! Tel Dan, the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee, Caesarea, and the Cliffs of Arbel were possibly the most beautiful places I've been in my entire life!

Okay...back on topic:

Marching_gurl: I don't like to take pictures of myself, either. I only had one picture of myself in Europe, and my mom was kind of mad, so I made sure to take a couple this time. It's hard to take pictures of yourself when you're surrounded by things much more beautiful than yourself, eh?

Thanks, it would have looked better if I smiled properly, there were bugs around and I'm terrified of them, which is why I've got an awkward grin on :S

A friend took this photograph as a part of a project she assembled for her photography final last semester. This is my favorite of all that she took of me, and ultimately the one she used in the project.

That is an excellent photo. I like the added touch of having you hold the rose. A nice contrast to the black clothes.
