It pulses through my blood
Quick and slow
Thick and thin
It takes whatever shape it pleases
There’s never a warning
Always sudden
My breath quickens,
My body’s shaken
Like a disease
It racks my body
Until all that I have
Is all that I become
Nothing more, and
Nothing less
It leaves me
Hollowed and battered
There is nothing left
My body trembles
My mind is jumbled
My soul, broken
