The rush of surf on the sand,
the calm of the boat on the sea,
hoping to drift back to land.
Ripples as I dip in my hand,
It is all seems beautiful to me,
the rush of surf on the sand.
A gull cries above the strand,
soaring high, content to just be,
hoping to drift back to land.
The sun sinks behind the island,
colours of red reflect on the sea,
the rush of surf on the sand.
I hit my head, stumble as I stand,
boat rocks in the rough of the sea,
hoping to drift back to land.
This is not what I planned.
Cruel water tries to drown me.
The rush of surf on the sand,
hoping to drift back to land.
