Sweet and somber they will whisper
To you in the dark of night
The empty and cold, eerie whisper
That shakes your synapses alight
Creeping, seeping – much like liquid
This is your epiphany
Trying, crying – you are blinded
From the moment you start to see

Our God begs forgiveness, but his brow
Is furrowed by a deeper vow
And every breath he seems to take
Make this room all the more awake
We come to see, as all men will
That our society has fallen ill
For, amongst these dust-filled shelves,
We’ve bowed to worshipping ourselves

“Shame!” comes cries, for I have sought
A life that’s lived more ought than naught
But in the darkness of the night
Were not your synapses alight?
End of hall, there is your glow –
Moth-like in its youth
Still, it shines a world to show
Exactly why there is no proof
Why we labor, day in, day out
And to what religion have we sworn?
In living, humans come to see
That we should’ve died when we were born

We are circles, spinning mill
When we’re empty, we’re fulfilled
A treasure this is on the mind
To unravel humankind
But love affairs with philosophy
Never have appealed to me….

So, when we’re in the world or know
And there is nothing left to show
We’re confined and freedom’s ringing
To the music of deaf ears
All while amongst us, there is singing
Synapses echo over…
What we have known for many years

It comes just like a whisper
When we cannot dream at all
It comes just like a waterfall
Tearing down a winded wall
God’s killing you to save you
From all you have revealed
Because, for all your rule and power
God is the lock you use to seal…
Away from all those mysteries
That tower
Like a whisper
That never became real
Carpe Diem.

This was really good.

"Creeping, seeping – much like liquid
This is your epiphany
Trying, crying – you are blinded
From the moment you start to see "
This is what drew me in. The repitition of similiar sounding/meaning words really makes for a cool style.

I would get of the "..." though. I like to stay away from them since they're very tricky to use right in literature...
