Hello everyone,
I am the co-editor of a national publication called School Talk that is distributed to elementary teachers by the National Council for Teachers of English (NCTE). Our theme for this print cycle has been 21st Century literacies with an emphasis on technology in the classroom.
We are looking for young authors to answer one of the following questions:
1) What are some ways your teacher used technology effectively to help you
grow as a reader and/or a writer? Provide concrete examples and why you were
engaged in the lesson. [Or What are some ways your teacher used technology
effectively to support your growth as a reader and/or a writer?]
2) If technology was not included in your learning experiences in the
classroom, what recommendations would you provide to your future language
arts teachers on using technology to enhance your reading and writing?
The pieces need to be 300-500 words, remembering your audience is teachers at the elementary level. We'll need permission to publish your piece if you are chosen, and if under 18, your parent's permission.
