Author's Note: Well, I'm not exactly sure. I just know that he lost me. Way long ago.

“Say you’re sorry that face of an angel comes out just when you need it to.”

“I’m sorry, Beth. Will you forgive me?” He says, his dark brown eyes digging holes into mine.
So close. He’s standing so close to me.
“No.” I say flatly.
“Look, I’m sorry, okay? I acted like a dick.” The words flow out from his lips, so easily. Just like they did last time.
“Do you seriously think that’s going to work everytime? I believed you last time, forgave you. And what did you? Break my heart. Just forget it, okay? You are a dick. And that isn’t going to change.” I replied, tears welling up in my eyes.
“Please no.”
I stared at him. Was he being genuine? Did he really mean it? Or was it like last time?

“I’m not a princess, this ain’t a fairytale, I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet, lead her up the stairwell.”

“Don’t you remember how it was like before? C’mon, we can start again. Start fresh.” He said after a small pause.
“It’s not that easy. It just isn’t Stanley.” I said, my voice cracking a bit at ‘easy’.
“It doesn’t have to be hard! Believe me Beth!” He says, his voice getting an octave higher.
A small smile spreads on my face, a smile of pain.
“That’s what you said last time.”
“I did? I mean..just..Beth. Please?”

“There in my rearview mirror dissapearing now. Now it’s too late for you and your white horse, to catch me now.”

“Stanley. It’s over. All this was fake. I forgave you once. I can’t do it again.”
“Beth no, please.”
“Stanley, it’s over.” I said, brushing the tears off my face.
And just like that I turned on my heel, and walked the other direction.
Out of his life, his fake love, the pain he gave me, and those sleepless nights forever. You lost me. You lost me a long time ago.

Hey I'm Alyson =]

I'll get to the critical stuff first.

“I’m sorry, Beth. Will you forgive me?” He says, his dark brown eyes digging holes into mine.

Ok I'm not going to correct ever gramatical mistake. I'm going to help you correct yourself. You do this quite often. When your using diologue and telling who is speaking afterwards then there should be a coma instead of a period at the end of your diologue except for question marks and exclamatory marks; those stay no matter what ! Also you don't captalize the first letter after the diologue because it's combinded into one sentence. So in this case, you would write: "I'm sorry, Beth. Will you forgive me?" he says, his dark brown eyes digging holes into mine.

“Look, I’m sorry, okay? I acted like a dick.” The words flow out from his lips, so easily. Just like they did last time.

So to be honast when I here the word "dick" and automatic discusting picture pops into my mind. :P I don't think that word perferibly fits your character here. In my opinion, "asshole" or "Jack ass" would fit and sound alot better, but maybe thats just me :P

So close. He’s standing so close to me.

I would take out the first, "so close."

Do you seriously think that’s going to work everytime? I believed you last time, forgave you. And what did you? Break my heart. Just forget it, okay? You are a dick. And that isn’t going to change.” I replied, tears welling up in my eyes.

He already mentioned he was a dick she doesn't need to repeat it. Maybe he can say somethign not as bad like a jerk and then she can call him an "asshole", "Jack ass", or a "dick" if you want.

Alright, that is all the issues I saw. I REALLY liked the way you put bits of the Taylor Swift song in your story. The wording and vocabulary was awesome as well. I liked it. =] Keep writting and pm me if you have any questions or anything.
We all wish for forever, but forever doesn't always mean forever. The only moment we have is right here, right now. so think fast, baby before we lose it. <3

I think Alfreto covered just about everything. I admit, the story was slightly cliche, but it's based off a Taylor Swift song, so I guess it has to be. haha. I love how you weave in part of the song, like after each quote starts another mini-chapter. Very nice.

Love the song. :) One of my favorites of hers.

Good work! God Bless!

Yes, the Taylor Swift lyrics did make it kinda cheesy but I've seen this happen to people I know hundreds of times and I like the way you portrayed the scene. Good job.
These lies are leading me astray, it's too much for me to stay. I don't wanna live this destiny, it goes on endlessly. I see you so please stay strong, I'll sing you one last song and then I'm gone. I don't wanna live this destiny, it goes on endlessly.

Thank you!

But this is actually true, somewhat. Incorporated with real life and a bit drama. One shot, ya know?
So I know it's cliche, but what can I say? That's how my life is. :P

Hello!

Argh dialogue punctuation. Maybe Demter's terrific post will help? Here's the link: topic44898.html

That's especially important since the whole piece is almost solely made up of dialogue. Now, about that. I'd like to see the non-dialogue parts expanded, words build around what the characters are saying - so, even more appropriate body language for example. Descriptions are a nice way of showing feelings, too, since things can be described in a certain way to set a certain mood. So, for mood-setting sake and balance, add this :)

quote:
You lost me. You lost me a long time ago.

Very nice ending - liked it.

Thanks for posting,
Esme
