Recently, I've obsessed by aliens.
So this came out of my twisted mind.

General Phalen

Image
Jreet Arm

The alienic equivalent to the three stooges.

Image
B.E.N. is more of a robot than an alien, but whatever.

BOB, from Aliens versus Monsters

No, Quiller's arm isn't wrong, I drew it triple-jointedly on purpose. Really.

Image
This Greflon is more of a fantasy creature than an alien.

So what do you guys think? Artwork-, shading-, and creativity-wise.

OMG!!!! You are so talented man. The 27 story then this. You have a bright future. Really loved it. Do not have much to say. Try to fill colours in some. Maybe it will give a more different and nice look.

Wow, excellent work! Keep it up, these are great! I especially like the detail, and the shading is very nicely done too!

I agree, the only plausible suggestion anyone could give you right now is to fill the pics in with color. Especially the first picture - having that colored in would make it even better.

Hello again Jen!

So, I shall just critique on the ones I didn't like so much, 'kay? (And, I hope I'm not harsh.)

The Jreet Arm: This is not visually appealing. It's like an amateur version of a fusion of Persian, Mehendi styles. And, the top part reminds me of a toucan. But the curved part alone looks pretty good.

B.E.N. Okay, he(it?) is very cluttered. There's just so much that my eyes want to skip over it. Try to maybe, add lighter lines while drawing it.

BOB : I though he had only one eye? (Oh, forget it, if I'm wrong.) And you should try him out with a blue pen.

Greflon : He is really good. I have only one nitpick. His left arm doesn't look like it's holding onto spade properly. It doesn't seem right.

And once again, good work!

Thanks for the comments and compliments. Sorry to disappoint you guys, but I don't intend to color them in. I just don't have the right colors in just the right sort of medium. I can't even imagine what sort of color I'd use for the general.

The general made me go "D'awwww" the second he appeared on screen. (>.> ... <.< ... What?) I especially like the shading on him.

In fact, I like the line-work on all of them. It just looks so clean and ... inky. I don't know how to describe what makes them quite so appealing.

It took me a minute to find B.E.N.'s face. It just seems a little cluttered and since there's no color or different tone to distinguish different parts, it was hard to make out just what you were looking at.

Greflon's face reminded me of the Little Critter from the Mercer Mayer books. Inspiration or coincedence?

*whoot* Very nice.

Wow Jenthura! :)
These are so cool!

I absolutely love the first one. It looks very original and definitely very creative! You've obviously put a lot of effort into these, and it shows. Well done!

I'm very bad at critiquing these kind of drawings, so I won't! I do agree with most of the critiques from other reviewers though. Like a few of the other reviewers have said, B.E.N looks kind of confusing.

Sorry... I liked the bunny...

Anyway!
Overall, I really liked these! They were unique and creative. I actually like them with no colour. Although, they would look good coloured in as well.

Keep drawing,

I didn't know what to put here so I put this.

I really like these. They look like you would find them in a book. So maybe now you should write a book about aliens and put these in it haha.

Good Job Keep Writing

My reality comes to a close as I once again realize that you don't love me, and even if I love you with my everything you will never care.

these are so awesome!! They look like conceptual drawings for some sweet graphic novel or animated movie. My favorite was the general. He had such an expressive face. Sometimes I think it is very hard to get an expression right for an alien creature, most of them turn out angry or scary, you know? BOB was also very cool, he was like a Tim Burton version. Well done!!

Hey, Jenth. These were really original and all. But I have to say, after the first, I was less than thrilled with the others. D: Your first blew the rest out of the park. Your last one also had some really cool character to it. Except for around the mouth area. It seemed like it had a few messy lines. 0_o But for some reason, it wasn't that great of a distraction

I can see the style with the pen and all, but the ones you did after that first one seemed a little more on the sloppy side. Not by much, just as far as the line work goes. But maybe that's just my opinion. ^-^ Even sloppy can have some kind of decent line work to it. Because of the whole monster/alien thing going on, you seemed to have gotten away with it anyway. x)

But overall, I did like these. They reminded me of something I'd see in a newspaper. You'd probably be great at those kind of political pieces where they use this kind of style and address issues with humor and creativity.

Really great work. ;)
