To Save the World

Okay, so this is based off of the novel that I'm writing...


It's 2013, in New York City, and nothing much is different from right now. However, all over the city, there have been mysterious disappearances over the past 2 months. The people who've disappeared have been from all walks of life: homeless, rich, you name it. No bodies have been found.
You are a homeless teenager, currently living with a small group of other homeless teens. The whole group is uneasy about the disappearances, but, hey, it's New York. People disappear all the time.
But when your group seeks refuge in an abandoned warehouse one night, everything changes. In the middle of the night, you're woken by strange noises: hisses, and soft shrieks. When you investigate, you find a creature. A hideous creature, with a head like a bat, long teeth and claws, and voracious carnivorous tendencies. Just barely do you escape death.
From then on, you know that you are being tracked by the creature. You always feel as if you are being watched. And you are.

The people in your group are the only humans ever to survive an encounter with the S'earph (pronounced Seerph). These unstoppable beings are coming through a portal to another world, parallel to our own, in which the S'earph are the ruling force. They want more. They are coming. Humanity doesn't stand a chance.

Which is where you come in. Being the only ones who know and have survived the S'earph, it's up to you to control them. Without you, everyone will die.


Now that we've got that...characters. There are ten teens (let's try to have 5 boys and 5 girls) in the group, and thus there are nine spots open. I take up one of them.

My character:

Name: Cutter

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Description: Cutter is tall and pale, with long black hair. He wears some old black pants and shirt, with a pair of very battered Converse. He's got a kind of pointy face, but there's always a smile there, or laughter. He is blind.

Personality: He's easy going, loves his friends, and is also fiercely protective. He is good at fighting, but does not like to harm anything, even enemies.

Short Bio: He never knew his parents, and he's always been on the street. Started forming the group when he was 11. Very street hardened.

Weaknesses/Strengths: He only ever reluctantly fights. It's very hard to urge him to do so. Most of the time, when he's fighting, it's to protect his friends. He'll do anything to protect them.

Weapon: A knife.

Other: Up for love.

Name: Kyrai "Kitten" Balur
Age: 16

Likes: Roses, the moon, calmness, animals.
Dislikes: Noise, confusion, eggs, mean people.
Personality: Generally a laid back person, but when she's angry or upset it's obvious. She's known to wander off randomly.
History: She was born in Britian, but was forced away to the states when she was fourteen. She lived with her older brother after her parents died, but her brother died in a gang fight. She's been living on her own in secret ever since then.
Skills: She's really flexible and can move around without being noticed. Isn't that good at hand to hand combat, but give her something to hold and she can kick some butt.
Weapon: A old rusted crow bar.

Name: Aushy



Gender: Girl



Age: Fourteen



Appearance: Tall girl with dark brown wavy hair, and nearly black, smiling eyes. Her cheeks are constantly red, and her eyelashes are long. Beautiful features, but she is a little larger than normal. Though she's pretty she's constantly insecure about her appearance.



Personality: There are two sides to this girl--happy, upbeat, loud, and quiet, thoughtful, and wonderous. She's one of the only people who hasn't lost the happiness, even through all the terrors of the road. She never curses, drinks, or smokes, and while others might she never plans to. She's humorous and outgoing, though occasionally she has her thoughtful and silent side which keeps her absent-minded. She's curious, and her heart is completely sweet--she'd hate ever hurting anyone, and is disguisted at the sight or even mere mention of blood.



Weakness/Strengths:
Weakness~ She cannot stand gore.
.She is strong, but normally refuses to fight.
.Occasionally she wanders off on her own, looking around at the world she's exploring.
.Images stick in her mind forever, especially bad ones.
.She mostly appears weak or defenseless, and is normally the one who gets attacked or injured.
.She constantly worries about all those around her.
.She's a hopeless romantic.
.She's absent-minded.
.She's scared of heights.
Strengths~ Her motto is "never leave anyone behind, no matter how weak or defenseless." And she doesn't.
.Her heart is definitely in the right place, and she refuses not to help someone.
.She's very adventurous.
.She calms people down very easily.
.She gives good advice.
.She will try to heal people, but it's hard for her to handle gore.
.She makes everyone, even the saddest person, feel like they belong.
.She does not hate anyone.



Short Bio: Her parents died in a car accident when she was nine, and Cutter found her wandering the streets absent-mindedly, alone, seeing as none of her family lived in-country and nobody knew what to do with her. After Cutter found her, she joined his little 'gang' of people.



Weapon: She doesn't really have one, but she used to practice archery.

Name: Drew Kennedy



Gender: Female



Age: 15



Appearance:

Personality: She is very secretive, often talks in riddles, and loves a good chance to do some spy work. Drew also is distrusting. She is clever, a good spy.


Weakness/Strengths: She would make a great spy. She is clever and witty. She also is very handy with a pistol, though prefers hand-to-hand combat. She can be untrusting and secretive, though, as well as seriously annoying when she talks in riddles.



Short Bio: Her father was a spy, his mother worked with the FBI. Understandably, by the time Drew was eight, she was a black-belt in karate. She was taught to use a pistol at nine, and has been progressing ever since. She holds three black belts. She is really her father's girl, tough, determend, and ready to fight. She is way too dramatic, though, and also can be too daring. Has almost gotten herself killed many times in semi-failed skydiving atempts.

Less than two years ago, thoughm her parents were killed on a mission, and she was left with nothing because her uncle got all the money. so, she was forced out from her home onto the streets of New York. But she never left her skills behind.


Weapon: Hand-to-hand combat, a pistol, or her own personal sleeping poison she diguises as chocolate.



Other: Up for love.

Oh, yes. There are still plenty of people in the world! It's only a few in New York who have disappeared...And Kaywiia? How does your character fit into the whole "homeless teen group"?

Name: Montmorency 'Monty' Simmons

Gender: Male

Age: 15

Appearance: almost scraggly brown hair, deep blue-green eyes, white skinned with a few freckles, lanky and thin, a chain necklace with a coke bottle-cap as a pendent

Personality: generally laid-back, but a strong fighter when necessary, quiet

Weakness':
-not a good fist fighter
-sometimes has small sweeps of very minor depression, in which he won't talk to anybody
-isn't great at future-planning
Strengths:
-fast
-slippery
-quick-thinker

Short Bio: Monty grew up in a simple family in Jackson, Florida, at about 7 his talent at things such as fencing, archery, and games like capture-the-flag became evident, he was quite popular and well liked by his colleges, then his parents had to move to New York City. There, they both died in a large fire that burned down the apartment building they were staying at, Monty was at Soccer practice the time of the fire.
He moved in with an uncle, who was killed by a robber. Monty was almost killed as well and was traumatized to a minor degree.
He then stayed at an orphanage for a while but got sick of it and moved to the streets.
Then he met Cutter's group

Other: knows how to speak German and a little French

Name: Erzulie "Blue" Adrien



Gender: female



Age: 16



Appearance:

Personality: Dark and fiery. She comes off as shy, but if you make one snide comment about her, she will explode at you.



Weakness/Strengths: She looks slim and weak, but is actually incredibly strong for her size. She is a fast runner, and an excellent pickpocket. She is a jack-of-all trades with weapons. Her weaknesses are that she smokes and drinks more than she should, and is a manic depressant. She often can't get medicine, and will just slip into a depressed stupor for temporary amounts of time. She also often lets her temper get the best of her, and scares off any potential friends. She dislikes people in general.



Short Bio: She stole all the money she could find and ran off from an orphanage when she was six. She got into fights often, and was found by the group when she passed out in an alley when she was 14.



Weapon: pistol, switchblade.



Other:She has blues eyes and hair, which earned her her nickname.

Name: Bastian Grier

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Personality: Has a very dark, sarcastic sense of humor. Pessimistic and has a "whatever" attitude. People have called him a jerk, but he doesn't care. He knows he's pretty much what everyone thinks. A jerk. He wants to be himself and if people don't like that then screw them.

Weakness: Wow there is a lot. ^^
1. He is a jerk to most new people he meets. He dosen't like people very much.
2. He's a loner. He has this thing about commitment and friendship, but he's really just scared to lose those close to him.
3. He is pessimistic. Not exactly a weakness, but some see it as so.
4. He would rather hang around a bunch of guys then girls. Girls bother him, especially if they are the frilly, preppy, superficial, super girly type.
5. He is very dark. He could almost be seen as cruel the way he thinks sometimes. And if you piss him off, he will bite your head off. He's not afraid of getting into an arguement/fight.

Strengths: Now to make him look good after that ^^
1. He feels guilty about the bad things he does. He tries to make up for his wrongs.
2. While he may act like a jerk, he can sympathize with other people very easily. If he sees someone run off, upset, he'll follow them and end up talking to them in a way that will always make them feel better. Like he's their friend. It's very easy to talk to him.
3. When he lets his guard down, he's actually just like any person. He does have emotions and feelings, though he hides that fact.
4. Has been known to help random strangers on the street. Whether it be an old woman with a heavy bag or a man chasing his dog. BUT, he doesn't stay to chat afterward. He'll help them and go on his way.

Short Bio: You'll see. Later in the story. ^^ I find it far more interesting and dramatic to let the story reveal a character this way.

Weapon: His fists. He prefer's not to fight if he can manage it. And if he does, he doesn't want to get involved with guns or weapons of that short. At all. But he does carry a switchblade with him, just in case. His aim is very good, too.

Other: He is up for relationships although good luck actually trying to connect with him on a deeper level. Much less love. ^^ But you may try. xD
