I would like to write something on the English countryside but am really confused. Jerome.K.Jerome's Three Men on a Boat has left me quite puzzled about the rivers of England. I'm not talking about the geography. The author writes that a man could walk in a river and had to do it in single file. Are the riveres so narrow?

Moved to research.

And English rivers aren't narrow.

English rivers are just like all other rivers around the world. Except our ducks go, 'Quack quack, wot.'
I wrote the above just for you.

Most things happen for a reason. Though, usually, the forces that be are immature enough that the reason is comedy.
