Just some artwork

The following posts are just some of my pieces; none are recent. This first is a charcoal drawing of a white bengal tiger; I have won four ribbons on it

Yeah...it was too big to scan on the scanner... 20x24...

This is a pen and ink of some Yu-Gi-Oh! dragons... If I remember correctly ('cause I did this piece about 3 years ago), it's - from left to right around the circle - the Luster Dragon, the Red Eyes Black Dragon, two Blue Eyes White Dragons, the Red Eyes Black Dragon (the more powerful version, I just can't remember the name), and Hyoryu...or something to that effect.

Again, too big to scan. 18x24.

This is a painting I did last September, for my good friend Dynamo's 20th birthday. It's an acrylic painting, based on one of the many dragon figurines you will find throughout my room.

And finally, to complete this "older set", is a scrapbook page I freehanded. I was making a scrapbook of memories for the Lieutenant Colonel at my school; he had literally watched me grow up from a 4th grader to a young woman, enrolled in his class and following in his footsteps. He was a third grandfather to me. Well, he retired, and I made this in honor of him, to give to him at the JROTC Awards Banquet.

I put handwritten farewell letters from various cadets on this page for him to read anytime he misses the job he had for 20 years.

how... What... You're amazing... I'm speechless.

I have NO criticism, but I'd love to see the whole photo of the painting that was too big to scan. Puuh-lease!

Wow! Alright, I'll go one at a time.

The Bengal tiger (aside form having a flash-spot in the iddle) was amazing. Did you do black charcoal on white ppaer, or white chalk on black paper? Because I really can't tell. You said charcoal, but I can't imagine doing that peice in charcoal (especially the thin star-like things in the upper-right corner). The stripes on the face don't seem to go well with the body, and the eyes (which I think are closed) can't really be seen, but it may be because it's not scanned.

The dragons are cool, but I've never seen them, so I can't tell you if they're anatomically correct (anime? Or card game?). The Japanese letters should be black though, not hollow.

I'd have to say that the painting isn't nearly as good as the pencil or charcoal drawings. The twist in the middle of its body is quite distracting too.

The flag as a strange black mark in it. If it was just shading, then it'd be okay, but it's a bit too black for that.


Overall, very nice drawings, I couldn't get anywhere near this good.

Thanks, you guys! Now to answer your questions:

The tiger is done in black and white charcoals on beige paper. I covered every inch of that sheet...whew... And it took me a while to do it, too - 2 and a half weeks, about 4 to 6 hours a day. Ugh... I'm NEVER doing something that big on paper again!

The dragons...they're from the card game. I couldn't see the images too well, so I went with what I had.

I know I'm not a good painter. I painted this about six months before I started doing murals, so I know it's not one of my better pieces. Thanks for letting me know what you see wrong with it, though.

Yeah, the really dark mark was supposed to be shading; I was hoping for a really bold contrast, but it didn't turn out like I had hoped it would.

Oh my god they're all beautiful! you've caught the depth well, the dragons looks amazing and 3d and the shading is uber gorgeous. i don't really like the flag, it's a bit boring and it just doesn't seem as good as your other pieces of work. i love the tiger! beautiful! I'm not a good reviewer and am lazy, just me saying these are fab!

Wow, you are very talented to draw and paint..and color these pieces! There must have been a lot of patience in doing these artworks. I really love the first one! That is my favorite!!!!!! Sorry, white tiger's are my fave. When did you start painting, drawing stuff like this? I think this is great stuff!

Yes, there is a lot of patience involved. On average, it takes me about four hours to do a single piece; that tiger took two and half weeks, four to six hours a day. Uh...honestly, I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil, but I started getting serious with it about ten years ago, when my dad introduced me to paints and started helping me submit stuff into the local fairs...
