It was a dark Halloween
And the moon shined bright
With just a twist or a turn
A child could tremble with fright
Everything that went bump in the night
And everything that crackled
And all of the creatures
That laughed with a cackle
There was one little child
Afraid and alone
He walked up to each house and rang each doorbell
When the person opened the door, he gave a small moan
He did not wish to look in their eyes
He knew their fate
And he didn't know why
He knew that they all would eventually be bait
Not literally, no
But figuratively, yes
They would be the bait of a plan from long ago
And it would become a great, big mess
He is the only one who knows
And it has caused him to become friendless
Because of all the times he tried to tell them, The Unknowing
They say that he's a crazy little boy, but that's anyone's guess
So every Halloween
He says to the men and women that come to the doors,
"You have been WARNED!"
