Why do people feel guilty about not reviewing?

I feel guilty. This is probably because I've been vaguely prodigal as a member lately. I could see people feeling guilty though because there's been such a push recently to critique more. A lot of members might be a little intimidated by this, but I don't know.
But I must say, I can't believe people PM you for that! Just get out there and review! The only person stopping you from reviewing is yourself. ;)

People who feel guilty might be whiners who should get off their lazy backsides and review more. Or they might be too busy going to school and/or paying the rent. Or they might not know how to review and thus be too intimidated. Or they might be generous people who want to help more than is realistically possible. And so on. :?

I really don't feel guilty anymore... I do remember feeling that a lot, not that long ago, because I had been here for about five months and only had about 30 some reviews. The biggest thing that made me feel guilty I think was the fact that members that had only been on two weeks had more then me, which added a huge amount of guilt.

I stopped feeling guilty since then, I made myself review, and after doing about eighty in a month I feel pretty good about reviewing, I'm enjoying it a lot more.

It's so much easier when you feel like you want to, not like you have to.

Been here for over a year, with 26 reviews, not a bit of guilt.

I've felt guilty about not reviewing before, and it's because I've come from writing communities where there have been perfectly wonderful pieces sitting for weeks without ever receiving a single review. Or pieces that could be awesome with a little guidance that just don't get it. It's like I have to personally crusade to keep that from happening here and when I don't because I am just not motivated, I'm letting the community down.

So... old (bad? good?) habit? I dunno. I'm getting over it slowly.

Funny, for some reason I'd never thought of linking to an article in a review before. *facepalm* Thanks for making my life much easier, everyone.
I am reminded of the babe by you.

I feel guilty I spent January doing 160 odd reviews and was a runner up ~ level-pegging with Juni ~ and now in February, I've decided to retire from reviewing until March. Where I will be Number One.

*insert evil laugh*.

Or not because I have exams until June. :/
