Do you have a secure future? If you don't have a grade higher than a “C” does that means that you won't be able to succeed in life if your athlete career doesn't work out? This is the time for athletes to finally realize that they might not make a dime being a professional athlete and need to have an extra plan to make a living. If you do not get good grades and you are on an athletic team then you should think to the future and other careers that can help you succeed in life. Now is the time you can discuss this with other people and find their point and views on the subject.
One reason for having a "C' or higher while on an athletic team is being able to have a secure future. If you do not succeed in the athletic world then you need to have other options to lean on. Now is the time to realize that a professional athlete probably won't make a dime but with a good college education they can have a second option. Athletes need to support themselves and their family after they are no longer bale to play sports. A good backup plan is being a coach, coaches can teach a sport even if they are not physically able to do it themselves.
Balance is key. Being able to divide time between work and play can help people have better lives. If athletes can't get a "C" or better and be on an athletic team in high school then how will they achieve that in the real world? Athletes should be able to know when there is time to play and know when there is a time to do homework and study. This skill will help athletes life after there athletic career. If you are an athlete you should seriously consider trying harder to organize your time and being able to balance your life. Balancing your life can also teach you good study habits and get you into a good consistent routine. Athletes remember student and athletes and synonyms.
Getting a scholarship is a good thing but can you get good grades to keep that scholarship? If you get sports scholarship that is a great thing but you also have to have study habits and distinguish between work and play. Most colleges require a 3.0 or higher to have a scholarship. If the athlete achieves this goal they can graduate college and have a backup plan for the future. Scholarships are a good but you must also think to the future while you are on that scholarship.
