i wrote this yesterday, and i just wanted to get everyones thoughts on it
The bars of the jail cell slid open. “Stand facing the wall with your hands in the air” said one of the police officers. Jacob Alexandria sat on his small bed with his head resting back on the hard wall. “I said get up” the police officer took a few steps forward. Jacob didn’t move. The three officers slowly closed in on him. He then staggered to his feet and walked toward them. They instantly backed away; one cop stuttered “F-face the wall with your hands in the air” Jacob stopped moving. He smirked, they were afraid of him. He took a few steps back and faced the wall. He felt the officers’ move towards him and then the handcuffs being shackled around his wrists and ankles. They then slowly directed him out of the cell and they walked in silence down a corridor. He could feel the cops trembling, they were paralyzed with fear. Fear of him. Fear of would he could do, fear of what he has done. Jacob felt the energy coming from the other prisoners. It was one of his many talents, talents most believed he couldn’t have. He felt the energy from people, their moods, their abilities, and their wit, everything about them. He knew a man better than his own mother, just by being in the same room as the man. Their feet hit the hard floor, echoing the entire prison as the inmate s silently watched Jacob walk to his death. Their silence was new, usually they taunted all who passed by. Maybe it was respect for Jacob, maybe it was fear. No, it was both. The guards took him through hallways and doorways, spreading far away from his own cell. He didn’t realize that the jail was this large. But now there were no cells, just rooms. Rooms with no windows, and signs on the doors. Some said “Testing” while others read “Collecting data” and other weird notes. Then the guards stopped and faced a door that had a red “testing” sign on it. One of the officers swiped a card and there was a buzzing and the door opened. The room was blindingly white, with one small cot in the middle of the room. “Get on” an officer barked at him. Jacob took a few steps forward and sat on the cot. The three guards just stood there and stupidly stared at him. Then the door buzzed and the door opened. In walked a medium sized man with very short dark hair, and a pair of thick black rimmed glasses. He wore a lab coat and was obviously a doctor. In after him rolled a table with a syringe and a few vials of brightly colored liquids. One was a deep shade of green, emerald. Another with sky blue, except lighter. A few more of clear liquids, a few dull liquids, and one that was pitch black. “Hello, I’m professor Shram” the doctor said, not looking up from his clipboard. “Jacob Alexandria, convicted of murder” Jacob winced when Shram said this. Murder. It was an ugly word. “It says here that you got into a fight in your college dorm. A few drunken frat boys came bursting into your room and started taunting you. Then you commenced in beating all five to death with your bare hands. Yes you have a temper problem don’t you. Oh and a drug problem…” The doctor read more of the chart. “Acid and Shrooms, psychedelics , oh then you’ll love this” he chuckled. “What I have here is not a lethal injection like you were told. No, that’s a waste. You brought the detective that interviewed you to tears” Jacob felt that was irrelevant. “Yes, because you knew things about him that you couldn’t have known. You knew he was morning his wife’s death and that he had relapsed into alcoholism. Now either you are one fucking Sherlock Holmes, or you’re just, um, what’s the word, intuitive? There are extensive studies on these sorts of things. I bet you can ‘feel energy’ and you have a brief idea of what’s going to happen before it has. Sort of a sixth sense. Aren’t I right?” Jacob didn’t move. “That’s a yes. Now, after years and years of studying and testing” a flash of the red sign of the door flared in Jacob’s mind. “We’ve been able to isolate what part of the brain does this. It’s a part of the subconscious. More than that, but I won’t get technical with you. But, it’s pretty much the same places that shrooms and acid make their affect. Now by now you have to be dyeing to know what’s going on here. Well here it is, are you ready? We think, by we I mean my colleges and I, think that if this sixth sense can be amplified, well, there’s no telling what humans would be able to do. Maybe we could read minds, or levitate objects, become a super human, the opportunities are endless!” the doctor was beginning to shout. “Oh sorry, I just get excited. Now what we’ve been doing is testing this, and trying to amplify the sixth sense. We’ve tried and failed 8 times, but we’re feeling lucky with you, subject nine.” He smiled. “Tie him down” Doctor Shram said in a bleak voice. The officers grabbed a hold of Jacob and tied down his hands and feet, he could move. The doctor stuck the syringe into a vial and some of the liquid went into the syringe. He kept doing this until the liquid inside the syringe was a deep, dark purple. Some of the liquid came squirting out of the tip. He then stepped towards Jacob and stuck the needle into his arm. He felt the stinging sensation, and then the liquid pouring into his veins. The doctor stepped away, and there was silence. Then everything went black. “Is he dead…” a faded voice echoed into his head. “No, subject nine was perfect!” The doctor yelled. A flash of bright grey filled Jacob’s eyes, and then everything was normal. He sat up and then stood up. “Why isn’t he tied down!” the doctor shrieked. Jacob looked down and saw his hands and ankles uncuffed. He looked back at the cot and saw himself laying there. “What the…” one of the officers noticed the body as well. “What’s going on!” the third officer yelled. “Look, look at him, you can see through him!” the doctor exclaimed. Jacob looked at his hands, and saw that it was true. “Huh…” escaped him, even though his mouth was closed. “Oh my god what’s happening!” the third guard started screaming. “Shut up” Jacob murmured to himself, but his voice was audible to the whole room. Suddenly, the guard’s mouth fell off his face and splattered into a gooey red liquid on the ground. The man’s eyes widened and he dropped to his knees and stared at the gew. The first guard pulled out his gun and shot three bullets to where Jacob was standing. “No!” the doctor screamed. The bullets disintegrated when they hit his body. “Remarkable…” the doctor muttered. The guard dropped his gun and jumped at Jacob, only to turn to a light smoke when his body touched him. The final guard’s mouth dropped. “Untie my body” Jacob told the guard, who immediately went over to the cot and began untying his body. “Stop at once” the doctor yelled. “I-I can’t, I’m not controlling my body!” the guard finished untying the body. “Now hold the good doctor here at gunpoint.” The guard took out his gun and pointed it at Dr Shram. Jacob walked over to his lifeless body. He then lay on the cot, so his bodies overlapped. Everything went black, and then a flash, he stood up. The whole world was so colorful and so detailed, he felt like he was just born. He saw a neon black door laying on the ground next to him. He turned the knob and looked in. “When I leave, wait ten minutes, then blow your brains out” he commanded the officer. “Oh and Doctor Shram, I’m finding you.” With that, he jumped into the opened doorway, the one only he could see. He then fell through it and exploded from a bathroom stall on an airplane. All eyes on the plain looked to him. A stewardess beside him backed away. “Where are we going?” he asked. “Chicago” she replied. He then walked up the aisle to 1st class stopped at a business man. “You’re in my seat” Jacob said. “Uh, I think you got lost” he sarcastically replied. “No, that’s my seat” “No, it’s mine I payed for it with my money that I earned” he raised his voice. “No you didn’t, because you don’t exist” Jacob answered, and the man simply disappeared. Jacob then took his seat
