You Know You're a Nerd When...

You know you're a nerd when you yell out in English clas "YES!!" when your teacher announces you have grammar homework...

So guilty...every time...

You know you're a nerd when...

- you panic when you realize you've lost the pages on algebra

- you whisper comforting words and gently rub... the school laptops when they're acting up. And it works.

- you're not pale, you're computer tan.

- you spend your summers shut up in your room, glued to the computer, or scouring the TV for marathons of murder mysteries... just so you can watch Abigail Sciuto kick butt. (Whoot, gothic forensic scientists!)

- you freak out when your homework isn't in its usual spot.

- you flail at the mention of JK Rowling, DJ Machale, Ally Carter, Meg Cabot, or any author you love.

- your eye twitches violently when people say you need to get out more.

Guilty as charged.

You know you're a nerd when you join an online community of your own accord that's main focus is to cultivate your understanding of literature...and help you improve your grammar...and your spelling...just for fun...

When you know what irony is and will correct people on it when they use the word in reference to things that are clearly NOT ironic.

You know you're a nerd when you lug a dictionary around in you're backpack along with copies of all the homework you've ever done, multigrain bars, sugar-free juice, and gluten-free chocolate chip cookies.

Your English teacher says you're only going to have to do 10 essays this year and everyone is moaning and groaning about how much it is, while you're tempted to ask for more.

-Know Albus Dumbledore's full name (it's Albus Percivell Wolfric Brian Dumbledore, if you didn't know,)

-Know the middle names of the three main HP characters (Harry James Potter, Ronald Billius Weasly, Hermionie Gene Granger)

-Can recite entire passages from any of the books by heart

-Remembers the name of every person Harry Potter met on his first trip to Diagon Alley.

-And much more!

...when you don't know ALL of this (^^) and you are so tempted to go look all of this up and burn it into your brain, but you don't because you are too busy looking up articles on the possible 8th book. *fangirl squeal!*

You know you're a nerd when whenever you get a good grade you jump around and you yell "Yeah! Over 9000!"

You know you are a nerd when you start using internet abbreviations in real life conversations (true story).

When you obsess over games that bring back memories of DnD and when you obsess over every aspect of a film, and look up reviews, previews, even the negative critics, all because you love this movie.

Or in the case as soon as you've done watching a movie you look it up on IMDb (true story)

When the longest FB conversation you've had in months is Starcraft II-related, and that said conversation strayed into Rules of the Internet territory; when you spend hours discussing the biology of zombies with friends. And when the only friends you've got at school you've bonded with over DotA pwnage and Bioshock wussiness.

You know you're a nerd when you freak out when you find your mom actually witheld the latest Terry Pratchett book (and the newest one in the Tiffany Aching series!) because it wasn't your birthday yet. (*Big silence*..... MOM!!!)

You know you're a nerd when when you talk about a 'you know you're a nerd when' DT.

When you find a long, unknown word in a book and instantly start admiring it, looking it up, saying it, and figuring out how you can use it in every day conversation.

When you have a a page-long list of long, unkown words that you love and actually do use in everyday conversation, and that you are constantly adding to. (Guilty as charged....)
