He had disappointed her. He had killed her, his true love. He had killed his brother too. Why did he go to Ashley, why did he dig up her grave? He didn't know the answer to this question. He just knew he was evil, a monster. Why was he cursed with this curse? Again, he didn't know.
He held Callie's limp body in his arms, stroking her hair gently. Why did he love her? He knew she didn't love him, but he still wondered. Steven could feel the anger rise up in him as he gently placed her on the ground. He hated himself at the moment. He knew there was one way to bring them back, he had to kill to more vampires.
He got into his car and drove to the woods. He followed the path to the clearing he had found the night before. He stroked the stone table that stood in the center of it. He laid on the table and saw images go through his mind. He saw Callie, she was holding his hand. He also saw two vampires suffering. His brother held Callie's other hand. He had located his targets.
Steven stuck his nose in the air, he had located his prey. They were feasting on a family of three. He got into his car and drove to the spot. "Hey," he said, his voice harp and bitter. "I think I need to teach you how to share!" He grabbed the two vampires and pulled out two stakes. They tried to bite him, but he was stronger. He stabbed the one that howled the loudest and drove a stake through it's heart. Callie, he thought, he thought of her smile and her life. Next he killed the other one, this time thinking of Andrew.
Before he asked for Andrew's life he paused. If Andrew came back to life, Callie would be the same, but if he didn't... He decided to ignore the thought. After both of the vampires were gone, he ate what was left of the family.
Once home he stopped. He heard a small rustle noise. He raced into the garden to find Callie standing up holding onto her head. She glanced to the ground and screamed. Andrew was still motionless. Steven froze. Laying at Callie's feet was Andrew. Why was he still dead?
Steven remembered what Ashley had told him long ago, "When bringing one back, think positive or it won't work. If you think negative and then positive, it still won't." Steven shook out of it as Callie walked towards him and put a cold hand on his cheek. "S-Steven, you're dead to?" He pushed her hand away.
"No, Callie. I'm still alive, and now so are you. Callie's eyes filled with tears.
"Oh thank you, Steven. You don't know how much I missed you." She put her arms around him, embracing him in a hug. Steven looked into her eyes, feeling in love at once. He loved her more than he loved Ashley, he knew it was true.
"Callie, what do you remember about your life?" he asked her, withdrawing from her hug.
"Well, I was engaged to someone. But I don't remember who, oh and whoever I was engaged to died with me. So I know it wasn't you." she flashed him a smile, being sure to show him her sharp fangs. Steven pried open her mouth as if seeing these for the first time. He put his finger on her fang and she nipped him. Not hard, but just like a kitten.
"Really, so tell me who you are in love with,"
"Well, I don't remember. I don't remember his name, that's all. He looked a lot like you, his face is blurry now that I remember it. Hey, I have an idea." she paused, looking lovingly into Stevens eyes, "Maybe it was you."
"Really, so are you saying you love me?"
"Sure, I guess so. Wait, you don't have a brother, do you?"
"I do." Steven held Callie' hand, putting it in her face. "You see this ring, I gave it to you. We were going to get married before you died. My brother over there is the one who killed you,"
Callie turned towards Andrew, her eyes grew a fiery red. She pounced on his limp body and began to drink the blood that lay at the bottom. But before she had put her teeth in she paused. "A-Andrew. Andrew, wake up! Wake up Andrew! You can't be dead, I love you." She turned back towards Steven, her eyes flared. "I hate you!" She pounced on him digging her fangs into his throat.
"Callie stop! I tried to save him too, but it didn't work." she released her grasped and fell into his arms.
"I'm so sorry!" Callie lifted her gaze and it fell to Steven's lips. She crawled closer, and began to kiss him. He pulled her on top of him, the kissing grew more passionately. She loved him, she loved her creator. She loved Andrew too, but he was gone now. The moon shone as they laid in the garden. The sky was a deep purple and the stars shone. Callie knew she could regain her strength now. Now she could begin a new life.
