Right I have wanted to write a poem about the sufferings I had with this disorder for a while, but sadly this is all I could come up with. I really want to bring out the actual terrorifying images and soul breaking ruminating that the disease uses to break you down, but whenever I try to bring back memories of the time in which I suffered with the disease, I usually stop; horrorified it might cause a relapse and happen all over again. (If you have been through it you'll understand)So basically have a look at this, I would be grateful for feedback on what I have written, but I also need ideas for new stanzas also. Thank you :)

-----

OCD has got its hold on me I know,
For no matter how long I ponder,
these thoughts just grow much more stronger,
Oh when!? oh when will these demons go!?
-
OCD has got its hold on me you see
He's swarming in my brain,
Satan! making me insane.
Oh Jesus please set me free,
from this devil, OCD.
-
OCD has got its hold inside my mind
and by its own design everything
I believe will fall
I cant trust myself at all
Its made me blind
My heart I cant find
Could it be, am I dead inside?
-
Oh God would you please
take away this disease
Oh lord can you see,
how this demon is killing me?
Can't confide in no one
too ashamed to tell
This will leave my spirit broken
I'll die in my own hell.

Ok... if that didn't make anyone tear jerk, i don't think they'd have a soul. I don't know per-say what it is. Even if i Googled it i wouldn't have a clear understanding at what it does to your life and how it destroys everything in it's way. I do however know that it hurts to express how you feel and that putting this in the back of your mind and forgetting it is such an impossibility. its something you fight inside of yourself every day. obsessive compulsive disorder? I appreciate that you could spill your guts like that, blow our minds with you perfect lines and enternal struggles onto paper. Maybe that's a release and that will take the edge off. Again, I hope that one day you can smile and tell yourself i'm cured. until then, may God be with you and don't forget to pray. EVER.

Hmm. I mean, Hi!
Review time!
It's clear that a lot of emotion went into your poem, so I don't want to appear insensitive when I say that it could use some editing. First of all, I loved some of your imagery about OCD as the devil and your mind as your own hell. Very powerful. But at the same time, your rhyme seems to be choking the life out of everything. I suggest that you go back and write the poem free-form, just the words and lines without even trying to rhyme. I think it will make you freer to express your feelings about OCD.
A few nit-picky things:
"Can't confide in no one" should be "Can't confide in anyone".
I suggest changing "how is this demon killing me" to "WHY is this demon killing me."
Basically, though, I think you've got a really honest poem on your hands. Bravo.
