Ok here is part two of Dragon market I don’t think it will be as good as part one for some reason. Some of you might be thinking it would have been Shadow Flight: Un-retirement part four today, you are right but since I didn’t get any comments on part three suggesting how I could improve I am going to put it up tomorrow so I can make final checks and read over comments on part two. Enjoy…

Chapter two
The van kept on driving for what felt like an eternity. I had curled up in a corner. Seeka was curled up what little she could in her restraints. All of a sudden there was a sharp turn, I felt myself sliding but leaned back to counterbalance it; but it was too much and I slid right across the van and hit Seeka. The turn continued for a moment longer before returning to normal.
“Sorry are you ok?” I asked standing up, a hint of concern finding its way into my voice.
“I’m all right but can you take your paw off my tail?” she asked smiling. I looked down at my right hind paw, sure enough it was on her tail pinning it to the floor of the van. I immediately got off and returned to the corner I was in.
“Sorry,” I said as I got off. She curled up again and yawned. She tried to hide it from me but it didn’t work.
“Get some rest,” I said. She sat up and shook her head firmly.
“No way not while I’m anywhere near fatty and his friends!” She shouted over the engine noise. I stopped and listened for a moment. That wasn’t the van engine it was too loud. Then it hit me we were on the motorway. Cold sweat formed on my brow, and I began to shake my head in disbelief miming the word no repeatedly.
“What is it?” She asked tilting her head. My town was half way along the main motorway. I had never gone ether way on the motorway before even if I did escape I wouldn’t know how to get home. I felt so traumatised already that I had decided not to trust a human I hadn’t known for at least a while. Escape was now out of the question for me.
“This cant be happening,” I said, shaking my head more frequently, my breathing reverting to quick broken gasps, and my heart rate rivalling the speed of an F1 car. Seeka touched me with her snout and made me come to my senses again.
“Ok take it easy, your going into shock don’t worry I’m sure we will think of somehow to escape,” she said in a filed attempt to reassure me.
“That the problem if we get more than a mile away from the town I wont be able to get back, and I already fell like I cant trust anyone ever again!” I shouted.
“You don’t but I do just hang in there,” She said firmly with a smile. I breathed a sigh of relief.
“Thanks I-” I began but once again she cut in.
“Shh I think I hear something,” she said pressing her head against the back of the van that connected to the front. I did the same. I could hear all three of the kidnapers.
“We got an order for those two?” a rather gruff voice asked.
“No looks like they are going to get the chop too,” a quieter more sinister voice said.
“Dragon pelt or dragon pet so long as we get paid,” A third bored sounding voice said.
“How much longer boss?” The sinister voice asked.
“Half an hour,” the gruff voice replied. I took my head off the wall, I had head enough she had too.
“I’m so sorry,” She said her voice beginning to break. A tear rolled down my cheek.
“So this is it…I wont se my friends ever again…go to parties ever again…finish off that book I was righting…all of it…life’s over,” I murmured breaking into a torrent of tears. Seeka nuzzled me trying to comfort me. One of her tears fell onto me. I pushed her away.
“No don’t cry for me I’m already dead to myself,” I said barely able to talk. We sat in silence, barely able to hear each other’s sobs and whimpers over the sounds of engines.
“What did you do?” I asked her she looked over to me.
“I was a gym instructor,” she replied bleakly.
“I was a library assistant,” I said she nodded.
“Relations?” she asked I shook my head.
“Mum died during my birth Dad raised me he died two years ago; he was killed in an accident. He landed outside one of the pubs he went to regularly two cars were speeding on the road behind him in a drag race, one lost control and hit him, he was dead before he hit the ground. As for me I’m single,” I replied. “You?”
“Mum and Dad were both military engineers, they got killed in a mortar attack ever since I have lived alone. I’m also single,” She answered. The rest of the trip was spent in silence. We turned off the motorway and onto normal road then onto what felt like a track of some sort. The van bounced around on the uneven ground then eventually it stropped. So did my heart.
I heard them get out. The doors began to open. I made my choice and took the moment.
I jumped to my feet and charged at them. I closed my eyes. I pounced but was stopped mid air. My claws had got into something and my teeth had met some resistance. I opened my eyes there was a metal wiring in the way.
One of my captors was in view. Agonisingly he just out of reach. He had long pitch back hair, light skin tone and deep brown eyes; whatever life had belonged to them had faded long ago leaving a ghostly shell behind. He wore blue genes and a plain short black top. I got the feeling that he might have become something in another life, but he was just a criminal.
“Down boy,” he said, he had the sinister voice. He pulled up a small silver remote barely bigger than the palm of his hand; it had three buttons on it, one green saying open, one read saying close and a blue one saying shock. He jammed his finger down on shock.
Faster than light all my muscles contracted painfully, and I let out a painful whine as hundreds of volts of electricity coursed freely through my body. I eventually fell off the metal wiring and the torture ended.
“Il kill you,” I muttered.
“I’d like to see you try when your dead don’t have any skin, horns, claws or teeth,” He replied placing his face right in front of the wire. I growled furiously, as I slowly managed to get to my feet.
“James out the way we got a customer,” the gruff voice shouted.
“Already? Well that was fast,” James replied. He dropped his voice to a whisper “Bye bye,”
He moved out of the way. From what I saw we were back in the middle of some countryside, there was a lush open field that had a heard of sheep in it, all idly grazing. We were on a dirt track or something along those lines. Another person stepped in the way. He was a slim man dressed in a clean white apron, black pants and short sleeve black and white chequered top. He looked about thirty four had short brown hair, pale skin and piercing emerald green eyes.
“Look all right what’s the asking price?” He asked in a low smug voice.
“Two hundred seventy-five quid,” My fat gruff voiced captor replied.
“Deal,” the guy replied smiling, reaching into one of his back pockets and pulling out his wallet. My heart dropped. I walked to the back of the van.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t save you,” I whispered to Seeka as I passed her.
“There was nothing you could have done,” she replied, nuzzling my snout.
“Three hundred,” another softer voice said from outside.
“Three fifty,” The guy in the apron replied.
“Three seventy-five,” the soft voice replied. The guy in the apron put his wallet away then walked off.
“Now they are bidding over us,” I thought bleakly to myself curling up facing the wall of the van.
P.S. For all of you who are still wondering yes Karanic and Midnight are going to have a battle in part four of Shadow Flight: Un-retirement.
