The Tudors on ShowTime.

So, recently I stumbled across the first episode and fell in love. Yes, I know the show first premiered in 2007 but I bought the first and second season to catch myself up. I'm working on the third season but I have to say, when I learned about Kind Henry VIII in school, I thought he was cool and when I heard that he had a show, I totally turned my nose up at it. But this show is amazing.

I only just saw the episode where Thomas More was beheaded. OMG, I cried. I cried at a television show and that is saying something for me. I couldn't believe that Henry would do something so...heartless to his loyal friend and counselor. And when his sister died, I almost choked on my cereal, honestly. I didn't see it coming and I love Gabrielle Anwar(from Burn Notice which is my second fav show in the world) anyways, this show is amazing, am I right?

But still, what do you guys feel on the subject? Who likes it? Favorite scenes? Most hated scenes? Saddest?
Who doesn't like the show? I admit, it does have it's down points. So, opinions? If any?

I love the Tudors! LOVE THEM! I absolutley love the man who plays King Henry HOT and AMAZING at his character!

I know! Whats his name?-leaves to look it up- Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Amazing actor. I first saw him in Bend it Like Beckham. He is outstanding. And his friend in the show, Charles Brandon, is equally handsome. Who am I kidding? He's HOT.

The Tudors is OK. I haven't seen a lot of it, only about half of series three, but my problem (obviously, as a Tudor freak) is that it isn't historically accurate. Henry VIII had two sisters! Mary married the King of France and Charles Brandon. Margaret married the King of Scotland. But at least it doesn't pretend to be anything other than soap opera. It encourages people to find out more about the period, which is a very good thing, because in my opinion the actual history is the true soap opera. I wish it didn't have to be so... y'know... graphic... though. And I don't like the actress who plays Mary. I give them the thumbs up for making Anne of Cleves pretty. I hate it when people say she was ugly because she really wasn't.

I completely agree fhwdf, the show isn't accurate to the point. But besides that, I think I'm in love with it. When we learned about it in class and I heard that there was a show about it, I thought it would be some educational crap. Turns out it wasn't. But there is something about the graphic way about the show that I like. I'm not one for sex scenes but it really gets to the point that Henry VIII wasn't some holy, faithful saint. He was a man, a lying and cheating man(not saying that all are haha) And I almost like that they aren't so accurate. The accuracy would make it seem like a history lesson. Also, I hated when they'd say that Anne of Cleves was ugly. I never thought that she was either. And you are so right, I hate the actress for Mary. But at times, I hate the actress for Anne as well.
