Okay, so I finally am posting something.
This is the prologue/first chapter of a story I started writing. Have fun reading it, and here is a sword to tear it up with! o=|=====>
And by the way, don't read someone else's story while writing yours if it's in a different perspective of yours. It makes editing easier.
Lyra didn’t know where she was, but it looked like a castle. Someone was holding her. She realized that she was a baby.
This has to be a dream, She thought. She fell asleep at fourteen. She couldn’t have gone back in time.
There was a man in front of her. He looked like he wanted to kill everyone around him. There was another man in front of the first. Some soldiers with green tunics were forcing him onto his knees. The second man looked like he wanted to kill the soldiers holding him. He looked at Lyra and smiled, but somehow she knew she would never see him again. She couldn’t see his eyes. It was like there was a shadow over it, but everything else was clear. She saw that a boy was holding her. He looked like he was about ten. There were others around her and the boy. One looked like a mother, and there was another young boy and a girl who was holding another baby. Then the evil man started speaking,
“You're a fool, Mael,” he said, “You really thought that you could’ve beaten me, didn’t you? And I wasn’t going to hurt anyone if you surrendered right away. You really haven’t thought of your people or your family. Now I think I’ll very much enjoy killing you all one by one,”
“You’re the one who’s a fool, Saethen,” Mael said, “One day you’ll be killed for all this. You should’ve stayed in Corr, where you ruled well enough,”
Saethen laughed, “No, see I used my power to conquer you, and one day I’ll sail across the Great Sea and conquer the other lands. I’ll rule the entire world! And there’s nothing that you can do about it. Maybe I’ll be merciful enough to keep you alive, but you’ll never see your family again. Or the light of day if I can help it,”
“Yes, I will,” Mael muttered, then leapt up and attacked Saethen. They fought for a moment, then Saethen knocked Mael to the ground. He picked Mael up by his throat.
“You’re wrong. You may think that you have the gift of foresight, but whatever spark of hope you have I will destroy,”
It seemed like Mael was strangled to death, but it looked like it happened instantly. Lyra then heard a voice in her head,
Don’t worry child, I will come back and help you. I promise. Take care of your sister when you’re old enough,
Then he was on the floor, limp. Everyone around Lyra started to cry, except Saethen, who was laughing. He walked over to Lyra, who hid in the boy’s chest. Saethen looked at Lyra, and his eyes trapped her for a moment.
“Who’s this?” he asked, “A new member of the royal family?” he grabbed Lyra out of the boy’s arms and held her like she was a sack of meat, and nothing else.
“Put her down!” The boy yelled.
“Well,” Saethen said, “If you insist. But I’m not sure you’ll want me to in a minute,” He threw Lyra on the ground.
She never hit it. The boy grabbed her before she landed on the cold stone floor.
“What’s your name again? Will?” Saethen asked, “You’re quick, like your father. You’re very foolish like him too,” he went to hit Will, but he ducked out of the way.
“Saethen, you'll pay for what you did to Mael!” the mother said. Saethen grabbed her arm and threw her to one of the guards.
“Take her down to the dungeon. I’ll deal with her later. As for the children, they must be separated from each other. Take them as far away from each other as possible, and their minds must be wiped. You there,” he pointed to a guard, “Summon the daemons. I have a special job for them,” the guard ran off, returning a few minutes later with five beasts following him.
“Each of you take one of the children,” Saethen said, “take them as far away from each other as possible,”
Saethen grabbed Lyra out of Will’s arms, (with difficulty. Will seemed very strong for her age) and handed her to the daemon. She got scared and began screaming. Saethen ignored her screams, and grabbed the other baby out of the girl's hands. He handed her to another of the daemons.
“These two need to be the farthest apart. Make sure their lives are miserable,”
Saethen grabbed the little boy's arm, and threw him to one of he beasts.
“Erase his memory,” he said, “I don’t want the risk of him remembering this, despite his young age. One of you, take the girl. Erase her's as well,” he looked at Will and said, “I have a special memory for you,” he started laughing, then Lyra was being carried out the room. She was taken to a stable where the daemon got on a horse, and they rode away. She saw dead bodies, some with green tunics, and some with blue. As they rode away, she heard Saethen yelling,
“I am your new king, Reinians. See what I have done to your foolish king? He is dead now!” he held up King Mael for everyone to see. There were screams of horror. Some people ran.
That was the last thing Lyra remembered of her dream, except for an elf picking her up. It was the same elf that had bought something from her the night before at the spring festival and she had been talking to for so long.
