Sister Awake by The Tea Party is my hands down favourite song. Before that it was Bohemian Rhapsody, and Stairway to Heaven before that. All of them start softly, build up over a couple of verses to a climax, and finally drop back to the same pace as the beggining at the end. Kind of like your standard novel.
The Tea Party is an amazing band, in my opinion the most underrated. The thing I love about Sister Awake is that I've just listened to it about six times, and been able to figure out a different meaning that works each time because it's open to interpretation, rather than having one specific meaning.
The instruments are brilliant too. The Tea Party has such a unique style because they combine a traditional middle eastern sound with rock. I've never heard another band like them. The singer Jeff Martin has a haunting voice which matches the tone of the song superbly.
