Just wanted to say hello. It's great I found this site because I'm aspiring to be a author when I get older. I am currently thirteen and live in Connecticut. I hope this site could really improve my writing. Well I don't really know what else to say. I hope I have a good time here.

Hi, I'm caitlin, and welcome to YWS! Connecticut? Wow, that's across the country from where I'm at! (Hicktown, Oregon)

A few quick rules:

1. 2:1 ratio- before you post a piece of your own, review two pieces from other people.
2. DONT LEAVE YOUR KEYBOARD ON CAPS. IT FEELS LIKE IM SHOUTING.
3. Dnt tlk lyk dis ethr. Chtspk iz so annyng.
4. If your piece contains foul language, rate it PG-13. If it contains mature situations, rate it R.
5. Be nice and helpful when reviewing.

Oh, and,
1. This site will definitely improve your writing and
2. You'll have tons of fun here!

A few simple rules around here are...

1 2:1 ratio is when you write something you must post 2 reviews. very simple
2 NO CAPS ITS ANNOYING
3No chat speak like lol or l8r
4 rate your work
5 Be respectful that is simple i don't need to explain that.

Most importantly Be creative and have fun!

Just to add on to what the others have said:
It's fine to use things like "lol" once in a while, but keep it to an absolute minimal.
After all, to improve one's writing, we should practise using proper english, right?
And of course, punctuate, spell, capitalise and grammatise your words properly whenever possible
Especially in your works, you should edit obvious errors and your critics will help you out with the rest
