my first anime drawing in side position

Hey guys!!!
I made this picture feel free to comment.
the paper was a bit dirty and the colour didn't came out that well.

Hey, Ice Fang!
This is pretty good. Drawing people from their profiles is always so hard for me!

From the top:

--The shape of the head is nice. xD I dunno why, but I notice that, haha.
--The ear is a bit too small.
--The hands and both arms are waaaaaay too small. Like, disproportionately so.
--Her boobs are a bit pointy and way too far down. They should be higher up on her chest.
--Her legs are kinda stick-ish.
--Color her skin, haha. She has no complexion.
--Add some shading for more definition.

So! My biggest recommendation is too study human proportion. Even though this is in the Japanese style, proportion is still super important.

Ah, Anitgone made a really good point. A really good point indeed.

To fully understand anime or any sort of cartooning you really need to learn the human proportions. In art, the best way to see something is to take something realistic and distort it, as anime is. Anime is very realistic except for the larger heads, the more slim figures, bigger eyes and more jagged hair. A lot of the proportions are much the same.

Her head is shaped nicely but her torso is very wrongly shaped. The neck always tilts back and leads down into a smaller area for the collar bone, then bumps out and thats when you can add a chest of not.

Try also going a little stronger on your linework. Some of the lines are a little sloppy in areas which makes it look a little less professional then it could.

Other then that, brilliantly done for a first try. I give you props! I learned sides by looking at anime drawings from side angles which really helped me out a lot. Give it a shot! I'm sure it will help you out in the end ^_^

I like the girls hair the best. One, the color matches her well. Second, you made it flow very smoothly. It reminds me of a young girl i met once named Amy. I also loved the knee. I have tried drawing knees and they never come out good enough or in porportion. Great drawing, I love it!

As antigone said, you really need to work on proportions. Shee seems to have a huge chest that slims down to her torso. In anime, they're mostly super slim with a curvaceous upper bosy. (Not too much though)
Her boobs are way too low and hang-y. They're drawn to be petite for an anime teen (most cases.)
The hands are shaped well, except that for a shoulder as you've drawn, the hands should start out a little fatter. They can slim down toward the end.
Also, I'm assuming she's eating a ice cream. You need to define the edges of the ice cream and the mouth better.

That's all. Though I must say, you've done a pretty good work with the hair. Try practicing more anime.

First thing's first, as your first attempt on drawing the profile view of a character,
this is pretty decent. Good job!
As mentioned before, you should learn a little more about proportions [hardest part].

Oh no, she doesn't have a nose! ^.^ The nose is pretty easy to draw...the shoulders are a bit small and the hand. Over all, I like it! Gosh now I want ice cream, heheh
The coloring is nice so you can see where the shading is and where her clothes are hit with light. Though, coloring in solid colors first then shading works better.
Here are some helpful hints for anime/manga:
Using light pencil marks before using a colored pencil helps not mess up, like a little on her knee.
Using basic human proportions like The.Dreamwalker said can help you a lot on drawing people. It's all from reality and distorting it into your type of drawings, as yours is anime.
Don't be afraid to curve. Every body has a curve/ See, for a nose you need to curve.
The easiest way to get good is to draw while you're comparing to a picture of someone (from side view or from normal front) [Like a magazine cover of a dude or chick...]

I thought the hair was nice. Yes, as others have said, you should color in the skin to give her more complexion...she looks so pale...coloring her skin would make your piece much better! I think people have already critiqued the torso area proportions enough, so I have nothing more to say, except that the others are right! Something that nobody seemed to have mentioned is that your arms are not long enough. They should hang a little bit more farther down than one's hip. Try standing up and measuring your own arms.

This is really good, although it looks nothing really like anime, i still think it has a japanese style! You do need to work on proportion and anatomy, also try colouring neater. but i really liked this! i'm new to manga/anime too and my first manga wasn't really manga. but this is brill!
