Love Note

So, you can guess what this is. This is one of the first photo's that I actualy set up myself, and it turned out pretty good. I'm just lucky the smoke alarm didn't go off. I burned the edges. The paper below the note is supposed to be an envelope, but it doesn't really look like it, unfortunately. Thanks for viewing! Rip it to shreds if you so choose, I don't mind.

Tex, you have real talent in both the creative writing aspect, and in the photography aspect. This is wonderful!

Now, a few things that I picked up on ...

Where IS the envelope?! I couldn't even see it ...

I just saw the black background and the love letter, but no envelope.

Now, the upsides. I truly love the way you set this up. This is actually quite great. I love how the edges are burnt, (which they're supposed to be, of course!) and that you can see the "I love you" perfectly in the shot. I wonder how you did this ...

Anyway, enough for thinking-out-loud; I think that the other thing that could improve this is a background. But the background blurred, and only the letter really focusable (is that a word?). I think the background could add a bit more of a story behind the letter and everything.

OVERALL:
You seriously have talent, girl. You better put it to use. Maybe you could write a story, and this could be the cover picture? I dunno, but this is great! Gold star!

Thanks, LaReina! There was supposed to be background, but the camera either messed up or worked perfectly, making the dark wood floor almsot black. Maybe I'll try again, see if I can add something. Gracias!

This photograph is really nice but there is only one thing I'm going to nit-pick you on and thats the height of it all.

The object of the picture is located directly on the middle of the picture in itself. Lowering it would have given it a bit of headroom and looked more professional in a way that could make this piece pop and really affecting. Not that is doesnt affect me or anything.

In fact, this is one of my all time favourite pieces of photography on YWS. It was interesting and beautifully done which made it a good picture. It held a reason and sharp theme which is reoccuring throughout the picture.

This is a very beautiful photo and one that I think could be improved with the slight fix of an angle.

You can make out the 'I love you' alright, but I feel if the camera had been a little higher, or more focused on the 'I love you' then the picture would be perfect.

Just a small suggestion, but it is beautiful as it stands

This is fantastic. Truly amazing. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of camera did you use? Because usually, pictures like these are taken from really expensive cameras. And since I have just an average Joe camera, I want to know if I can still take pictures like that.

Er, well yes, I did use an extremely fancy camera, but that's not how it looks the way it does. My camera is a Kodak CX4300. The CX series was so bad they discontinued it. Really low quality camera, it was made to be cheap. The camera I've been using lately is my dad's Nikon D50. Not a [s]cheap[/s] affordable camera even in the lightest sense.

And really, it wasn't that camera that made it look the way it did. All the camera did was take a shaper image (ha ha). I edited this with paint.net, my favorite program and took fifteen shots of the same thing with different angles until I saw one I liked. This is the original:

i thought it was a proffesional photo
i would have made the envelope more noticeable and recognisable
it must have been very hard to burn it injust the right place so you could get just the I Love You in shot
it is very moving and beautiful
it tells a story

This is cool! I definitely want to see more of your work, Texan.

The idea is somewhat cliche, a bit over used, but it's nice-- I love how you placed this all on a black background. Really makes for a good, strong contrast.

Is the burnt paper supposed to be a heart? I can't really tell, but if it is, cute idea. Impressive work, Texan. Keep it up-- I'd love to see what other creative photos you can come up with.

Wow, this is really beautiful. I like it. It sorta reminds of this song I like by Lovers and Liars. I agree that you should write a story and make this a cover because it's too beautiful to just let it sit here and not be useful.
