The Grim Reaper... Or a Woman?

I was editing a couple pictures together for a story of mine (I always add a picture when I post a story. It's just more fun), when something odd happened. When I was switching through the blending modes something happened. This first picture is how I wanted it to turn out and used for my story.

Image

But when I went to another blending mode on paint.net (don't remember which one), the picture changed from looking like the grim reaper to what I thought looked like a posing woman. I thought it looked like the grim lady had her back arched, hand on hip. Is it just me or do you all see it too? Here's the picture.

Image

Here's the same picture, but I drew out where key body parts are. So, what do you think? Is it the Grim Reaper or a woman?

Image

If you want to comment on the pictures themselves, that's fine (all I really did, though, was put a picture over another and did a few tinkerings), but I mainly want to know if I'm seeing things or not...

Hi!

Umm ok I'm writing this at like 2 in the morning where I am and personally my mind is a little off right now (meeheehee) even though i'm a scientifically proven insomniac... or that's what the shrink tells mehh...

NOW! okay personally I see what your talking about fully! I just see more grim reaper.. or maybe I am just weird like that. I can't tell you what it looks like silly because that's supposed to be your opinion!

Yup. Definitely a strange woman. You are not seeing things, it's just an illusion of light due to whatever blending mode you used. Other than the vague form of a woman, there is really nothing more to point out...

So there. :D

I have to say, I think you might have lost it, strictly for the fact that, well, I'm not seeing it and generally I'm imaginitive enough to see almost anyting in the most obscure of pictures. (I swear Satan is in the background of the Mona Lisa but no one believes me.)

But I think the main reason is that the general proportions just seem off. The butt is way to far to the right and the left arm doesn't even look like an arm because it's so stout and and so far to the right, just over the butt.

But that is just my opinion.

~lilymoore

ps. I've never actually thought that Satan was in the background of the Mona Lisa. I'm not crazy...I hope.
Never forget who you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.

This would be my first review on YWS ever, so don't take what i say to heart. I would have to disagree with lilymoore, but of course this would is my opinion. I see what you're saying about the lady posing. It's not the easiest thing to see, but i could see the women after a few minuetes looking at the picture. I like what you've done with it, even if it was by mistake. Nice picture of the grim reaper. I may not be the best person to ask to review, but i like art. The women's hand could be resting on her bum with her arm sticking in the air.

Nice work.

Wow! :o it almost looks like two negatives morphed in to one! A little creepy but cool!
How can you critique this, it just kind of happened? I'd like to but I can't! Very....WOW!

Nice work
I see more Grim Reaper in both, I'm not sure why. It could be the fact that I've been running on two hours of sleep the past two days...

But in the second one, I do see a woman. I do, but I don't think it's completely supposed to be a woman, the proportions are as exact as they should be.

Otherwise, this idea was pretty creative, I must say. :P

Nice piece,

The first picture looks better than the second one. Less blurry, and the white background and robes with just a few swirls is a lot more effective.

And no. It doesn't look like a woman. Except maybe a very old woman, bent over with arthiritis and stomach cramp with her hand on her back because it hurts. :P Or an old woman doing something dodgy.

I don't like the blurring away of the staff in the other pictures. The overall image os better with a clearly drawn staff. :)

oh my goodness...

that is so weird... but so awesome

i like the transformation...the woman looks like as if she has been deformed but her beauty is still there...the grim reaper is awesome with nice shadings and lines but for the woman...

it lookes liek she has been lined up by barbed wirres across her body.
