I don't have a scanner so I had to use a photo sorry! It's not very good quality! I've never tried drawing before, I usually write, so it's not anything amazing and it does look better in real life! I've tried editing it by improving the brightness but this is as good as I can get it. I know that the neck is really long and thin by the way!

Okay, first, to let you know, I've had experience with anime, so I know what I'm talking about.
Eyes:
A very defining feature on all anime creations. These are very well done, but a little bit big. Even in the highly expressive field of Japanese Animation, those eyes are way to big. Just reduce them a tiny bit, but other than that, don't change them a bit.
Hair:
Another important feature. You've got the idea, the pointed form and all, but give it some definition. Many characters are defined by their hair. The hair you have here is limp and more stationary than it should be. Give it some personality.
Neck:
I know that anime does have characters with long, thin, necks, but the neck here is going a bit too long and thin. It doesn't look like it can support the head. Shorten it a bit, and fatten her up around there. Otherwise, she looks very disproportionate.
Bow:
This isn't a problem, but I was just wondering. How do the bows stick straight up without somehow being connected to the head? I mean Hello Kitty has her ear as a support, but anyone else, it's just weird. Hm. I'll look that up. But yours isn't an issue, because lots of other people use bows that randomly stick straight up without any support.
That's all. I liked it, just, when you decide to take up your pencil again to this, keep in mind what I said, merely for the sake of the drawing.

Wow, this is a really nice drawing. A couple of suggestions though:
Eyes: They're a little too close together, and a trifle too big. If the character is happy and smiling, they would be more squinty.
Hair: Anime Hair is REALLY hard to draw. The hair on most anime defines the personality, as the person above me said, and it can't be too flat or too bushy, otherwise it looks fake. Yours is okay, but work on blending the separate strands of hair a little - it will look a lot more natural.
Others: The shoulders are a little lopsided - one of them is higher and narrower than the other. Not very significant, and everybody does it, but it spoils the general effect a little.
Very pretty drawing overall though, I like the shading on the clothes and bow especially.
Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious.
I can't draw at all so don't take my critique too seriously!
I agree that the eyes are a tad bit to big and are a bit close together. The hair could do with improving but like Moonglowe said, Manga hair is relaly hard to draw. Keep practising and it could be better!
I draw manga myself so this should be easy to talk about haha.
Ok first the eyes: They aren't to big like others have said I like the size, but they make her look like she is drunk (not to be mean only word i could think of) because they are different sizes on the inside. And yes I know they are very hard to draw I have messed many up.
The Uniform: This is perfect I love it.
The hair: Needs more spunk, as they said before, hair in the anime world is everything.
The neck: I don't think that it is way to long, but a little shorter would be nice.
The bow: It's just kinda there, it has to body to it, maybe a little more life.
The ears: I don't think they are needed, but personal preference.
Just a little work thats all, and it will be perfect. And no I am not trying to be mean.
My reality comes to a close as I once again realize that you don't love me, and even if I love you with my everything you will never care.
Hi Megan ^^ I'll be your reviewer for this evening
Your overall drawing is very neat and clean, a thing all manga artists definitely need The uniform is nearly flawless, only the fact that one shoulder is significantly higher than the other ruins it. If the whole body (including the head) was positioned that way, it could work.
The necklace chain is too short, and it doesn't look like it would naturally hang there.
The neck is fine, but the head shape, eyes, mouth, and facial expressions are not shaped correctly and some are too small. The bottom of the face should be wider, the eyes spread apart more and larger. The nose needs to be up higher and the mouth isn't expressed correctly. Try looking at mangas and animes to see how to do expressions, mouths, head shapes, and all of that.
Flower is right. Hair is everything in the anime world, so it needs more spunk. The hair divisions shouldn't meet at the top of the head. They should meet up in the higher section of the middle and just stop. The top of the head should go outwards for the hairs on the side of the head. Try to get the hair flow as natural as possible. Think of them as waterfalls and always consider gravity.
I must say, your shading is excellent and your uniform is superb! Keep up the good work

You cannot dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself into one.
The writer, when he is also an artist, is someone who admits what others don't dare reveal.
I draw Manga a lot so I have been on your end of the criticism, (I would post my pictures here but they are blatantly refusing to upload. Could someone PM me with advice please?)
Anyway, getting back to the point, the things highlighted by the others are valid points but what I think you need to do is take a look at other mangaka's work (try onemanga.com) there are lots of different styles of manga, eg. One piece and Bleach (they are both very different)
It is a matter of looking at other peoples work and seeing how it is put together, then you can either take aspects of their work and modify it for your own personal tastes, or, create your own personal style from scratch.
Remember: yes, it is important to take it criticism and use it to your advantage, but the drawings are your own and you have to make sure people can identify with with you: DO NOT try to draw if you are keeping in mind what other people want and not you, the drawer!!!!!
If there is a feature you really love then stick with it, not all drawings are perfect but as long as you are happy and keep on trying, you will improve in no time. Besides, even the professionals are not perfect at drawing, (I, personally am astounded by Ichigo Kurosaki's head shape sometimes!!!!!(Take a look at the front cover on volume one of Bleach! You will see what I mean)) Keep on trying and you will improve is what I'm trying to say, (if, like me, you can make no sense of what I have just said!).

Okay, for saying you've never tried drawing before... this is great!
The eyes aren't too big, but I think you could reduce their length a little bit.
Also the shoulders a very uneven, though beginners usually have some touble with that (I did!)
Also the ears are just a wee bit too small, or maybe they're supposed to look like that because it's covered by her hair, I don't know.
And the last thing I recommend working on a bit is the hair, it looks pretty stiff, and not flowy like hair should be.
But like I said, for never having tried drawing before this is REALLY good! Keep drawing, please! I would love to see more work from you. <33

Well, I think it is nice enough. Just a few things that should improve.I will start with my opinions from top to bottom. The hair: I love how you added the length to the shape of the head, and make different parts of them.Just try to make them look flowy. The ribbon is really nice. Face: The eyes are a tiny bit too big, otherwise I think they are perfect.I love the nose and mouth.Just prefect! Body:The neck is perfect but the shoulders are quite uneven. The outfit is nice looking.
Otherwise you should draw!I love it!
And everytime I try to fly, I fall Without my wings, I feel so small I guess I need you, baby And everytime I see you in my dreams I see your face, you're haunting me I guess I need you, baby Everytime-Britney Spears
Great drawing, but there are a few errors: First off, the eyes are drawn greatly, but it seems that it is a bit too close. The size of the eyes are a little big for the face. The second thing is the smile. From my perspective, it seems weak. It looks like your anime person is faking a smile or trying to smile for the camera. I suggest making the eyebrows look more curved and a little (Just a teensy bit) higher. The third thing is the shoulders. One side seems to be higher than the other. (Since I usually draw anime people, I nitpick very little things that people don't usually notice.) The last thing is the hair. The hair seems a bit...plain/flat. You could try a more exotic or more livelier hair.
To me, the girl seems like an innocent girl...if she had her bow in her hair, and it makes her seem a lot younger. Without the bow, she seems a bit more mature and it makes her seem older. Overall, it's pretty good, but you still need more practice. Your picture tells the personality of a person. I really like how you did that. (You probably don't really understand what I'm talking...right?) Well, I suggest coloring, and it will probably bring more life into your drawing. You don't have to consider that. Well, keep practicing the drawing! It's really good!
