(Worlds might end if worlds
need end.)

justice waits with shielded wings
devil is deaf as the reaper sings
lovers wither in a blaze of joy;
fool falls prey to magician's ploy
priestess sees not what she has sown:
her child the empress fully grown
hermit crawls as he shells away
within the Tower where he shall stay
fortune's hand points toward the moon-
sun falls prey to the night too soon
Tower crumbles and drags all down
to the claws of the World with its two-heart crown,
duece card knows not which way he turns
the pattern reversed as the
Hanged Man burns.

(Worlds must end if worlds
need end, need end...)

Wow. Good work in putting a story behind the Major Arcana! :D You did well. Do you have your own deck?

The only thing I'm going to make real mention of, is the lack of capitalisation in this piece. Aside from that, excellent work.

*Nods* I do, somewhere. They fascinate me.

As for the capitalisation thing, I didn't capitalise to make it flow and to draw more attention to what I DID capitalise - this whole 'lower case' thing is the exception rather than the rule, but I see what you mean, of course. It was soemthing of a response to people saying 'try playing with your caps' and whatnot.

Thanks a bunch :)

Wow! I have friend who's into tarot, so I understand the symbols, and this was an excellnt usage of those! I especially like the two lines about the priestess and her daughter the empress. They were quite unique.

The one thing that bugged me was that the word "the" was missing. It would have been okay if you had omitted it occasionally (and maybe it's just a style issue), but it made it harder to read.

Other than that one thing, very nice job!

I myself have dealt hands with the tarot card system (Ironically whenever I do a reading they almost always seem to be right), there's a story behind it that's obvious, maybe a bad reading you've had with the cards I'm not sure. Excellent flow and structure and prehaps the non-capitalizing singifies something else within the poem.
Hehe, Well I've tried to give good reviews I'm new here.

Oh yeah I know the real story of the tarot, Fool---->World etc. This ones story isn't the story of the tarot, rather the story of my CHARACTERS whom I have represented WITH the tarot. *SMiles*

And yes I can see how the 'missing the' thing could be annoying, sorry. Style issue, heh.

Thank you both.

Look, a good poem is a poem that exists. Any poem you write is better than the poem you don't.
