One may see it written in the bold cursive of the stars
But please don’t be disappointed that you will never leave the 10th House for the 1st House
You’re destined to be eternally governed by Saturn while he endures the rule of Mars
All hopes that you could kindle a fire with him, you must soon douse
Headstrong and clever, he stings your mind with sweat and fever, cuts at your head unleashing hot, thin streams of blood.
You’re hardhearted and frozen in your frigid, green winter,
Yet so attainable – not even slightly out of reach – for his poised grip, practiced in avoiding your slush and crud.
Immutable: accept your predetermined future; avoid the prickly pain of a loveless splinter.
But, oh, that very American dream! You must fastidiously unstitch all the hems of the seam
That has sewn you to your ugly fate, and chided your hopes – turned you irate.
Change yourself! Leave your home! Allow your life the chance to roam
And wholly absorb the energy of Mars, ridding yourself of avaricious traits; your life is malleable, you are not confined by the fates.
Yet, a dream is pleasant to think on – this very American dream, but when you peer outside your snow-clouded window, up, up into the darkness of night, you notice the stars aligned just as they were on nights past.
Perhaps Saturn’s influence was too strong, perhaps you failed to orbit close enough to Mars’ gravitational pull.
Still, your faculties are so clear now, any change you might effect could truly never last.
Prodded about the barren fields of snow lonely forever, destined to a life void and dull.
