I agree that the actors look way too old (especially Grover and Annabeth!) but I'm SOSOSOSOSOSOSO excited for the movie anyway! Yay for Percy! ^-^

Yeah, new trailer here

Also I think Grover's actor is okay, as long as he is a good actor. Grover is double Percy's age in the book, and he looks about fifteen, so with the whole aging slow looks about right to me.

Hmm, well they picked a good Percy and Luke. Not sure about Grover, I guess I had more of a Tumnus-look pictured for him.

Exactly my point.

But, I guess I'll have to wait and see...

I am SO super excited for that movie! Even though they totally messed up the casting with Annabeth and Grover (Grover is worse though) but Logan Lerman should do a pretty awesome job as Percy. I may cry if the movie is horrible. Those book are completely amazing! :D

Why is everyone hating on Grover? He looks okay if you ask me, about sixteen, and remember Grover is about twice Percy's age, and just ages a bit slower. So looking a bit older sounds right.

Could it be because of his race? (just joking...hopefully it isn't true though)

Well, he looks like he's thirty and he looks absolutely nothing like how Grover was described in the books. I don't care about his race (I like that actor but not for this part) but he just doesn't look like the author described him. I don't really care that much though. The movie will still be awesome :D

Um, I read the Lightning Thief... It was OK, but for the fact that I recently took a mythology course lecture, and I had this nagging feeling that certain characters shouldn't exist. Let's start with Annabeth; I liked the character, I just kept thinking 'Athena is one of the three virgin goddesses, Annabeth cannot exist'.

Is it just me, or are they throwing in big name actors for no other reason than 'Because people will then see it, y'all'.
This guy is so evil you could put him in between two slices of bread and call him an evil sandwich.

Coming at you like a jetpack Shakespeare.

I read the books, liked them a lot...and I was very excited to here about the movie.
That is, until I saw the casting list. First off, they are all way too old in my opinion for a series that will take over 5 years to develop? I see what the director was going for here, though. Working with children would be harder because of the child work laws, and permits. Its easier to work with adults, but for the sake of the fans I think they should have gone with kids. Also, the lady playing Annabeth looks nothing like they describe her! And they aren't even planning to dye her hair.
Oh well. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it turns out...
