Woman of the future
I am a child
I am all the things of my past
I am the eyes of my mother
I am the waves of a emerald green sea pounding the shore
I am the tiredness of my cat stretching my paws in the warm sun
I am all I see
T.v. pictures flashing by
The moon shining bright
Stars bright with light
I am all I hear
The cat scratching at the door
The sound of thunder booming away on its drum
Laughter everywhere
I am all I feel and taste
Delicate rose petals
Smooth book pages
The taste of a warm cup of coffe sweetened with sugar on a snowy day
And all I remember
Baking banana cake with grandad
Reading books with mum when I was little
The cat leaving little muddy footprints for me to clean up
I am all I've been taught
Eating fatty foods is bad
And,
Global warming is dangerous
I am all I think
Memories in the shape of butterflies fill my head
Ideas
Bursting out of their cocoons
I am all of those things
I'm like a mouse
And these things are what makes me who I am
And one day I will scurry my way out
And be free
Because
I'm the woman of the future.
