*totally didn't high-five the computer screen* >.>

Anyway!

This is delightfully simple with pretty nice line work. The pose is dynamic and well-drawn. The nails are... interesting (XD) and for the most part, the fingers are proportional and in a slightly difficult to perfectly imitate (trust me, I tried) but perfectly believable pose.

The only problems I see are that the pinky looks a little small, especially compared to its base. I'd imagine it being a little longer and definitely thicker. Also, the top knuckle line on the middle finger is a little too high up -- if you compare it to the index finger, it looks really tiny. The only other thing is that the forearm is a little too curvy -- it kind of looks like the hand is sitting atop a vase.

Overall, a great pose and a really nicely formed upper arm. ^_^

Hey, Blackie Chan! :D

So. Looking at the picture, it's a good hand! There's just a few things that could have been fixed to make it look a little more realistic. Like you said, it could use a lot more shading. Like on the nails, to make them look not so flat. You could have blurred the lines where the joints are so it's not quite so harsh. Also, there's something wrong about the proportioning. The palm appears to be squished. It should be longer. And the wrist should be a little wider. But you have the form of the hand down very well! It doesn't look deformed like my hands. xD It really looks good, despite my nitpicks!

Okay...when i first read the tittle, i though that it was suppose to be a scary picture...

nice hand though...it would be better if you color it and shade it at least. That could emphasize the title

Teague- Yeah, now that you mention it, it does seem like the hand is sitting on a vase. xD Whoops!

Holly- Thanks for your suggestions! :D

Foxfire- The title was a bit of a joke. XP I couldn't think of what else to call it. And yes, I certainly agree that it could use shading. ;) I'm hesitant to color it, though. I may color my scanned version. Personally, I think coloring it would ruin it.

Hey BCS!
Meep is here to give you a (hopefully helpful) review.
I shall do this systematically:
1) Nails
The nails for the index and middle fingers are a bit slanted, which gives them a slight, unnatural angle.
2) Wrinkle lines on the hand
Because you made the lines very prominent, very bold, it doesn't look too realistic.
The lines on the thumb are a bit off and not very aligned with the curve of it.
The wrinkles can be improved by adding more lighter, smaller, thinner lines on the palm.
If you look carefully at your palm, the tiny network of lines can be very fascinating indeed.
I have also noticed that when I bend my pinky down as you have drawn, there tends to be this short line peeking from the corner or the palm,
And the number can vary.
3) Structure
Not bad. However, the part where the thumb joins to the palm; the left outline of the palm, is crooked.
And the thumb seems to be bent forward a bit, so the fleshy part of the palm connected to the thumb would be slightly 'raised'.
The pinky seems a bit off, too far from the ring finger, and the ring finger's curve (on the left) is a bit too convex.
The hand and wrist part is rather unnatural, the way is gracefully curves in then out, like a vase.
The arm proportion is also a bit off, because if you compare the hand to arm ratio, the hand becomes rather big-looking.
The upper arm, at the part where you curve the line inward, looks like that is where the upper arm ends, which is also very short.
And there should be no hint of shoulder here.
It is possible that you are trying to show muscle, but that would span throughout the entire upper arm when you flex.
So the upper arm in general, needs work on.
4) This would look even more fantastic if you shaded it in. Shading would give the nails a nice pattern and character, and the contrast in shading would make the hand look more three-dimensional, and therefore more realistic,
As we can see where the planes of the hand and arm are raised.

Overall, a wonderful attempt!
I can't draw realistically either, but I'm able to comment.
I hope that benefits you!

Blackichiko!

I never noticed this until now. Anyway!

Nice, clean line work, dear. You don't have any of that "shaky sketchiness" which is just annoying sometimes.

The palm here looks a little small compared to length of the fingers, and the finger nails have a slight slant to them.

And, compared to the other fingers, the pinkie looks extremely skinny, haha. There's something about the gap between the index finger and the middle finger that is just... too wide for the hand.

But! Well done, Chiki. I fail miserably at hands, so this is a brilliantly good drawing. Keep it up!

(And try coloring it on the computer!)

hey
Good work, very neat and the lines are great. It seems just a tiny bit out of proportion, it's a bit too flat and oval-ish, and that makes it look a bit odd next to the fingers. The other thing I want to point out is the arm, I agree with the fact that it looks a bit like the hand is on a vase. These are the only faults I can find with it, I know how hard hands are to draw.
Keep it up!

well i think the palm is little squished...who am i kidding it looked like a baby's hand with those Halloween witch fingers jammed on the orginal fingers.
the shading would have brought the hand out a bit, like if you're ever noticed how the underside of the arm is lighter than the back side. the fingers are a little twisted, askew if you know what i mean...the lines should have faded a bit so it wasn't too busy.
other than that i think it had some pretty could potential. keep working on it and go from there!

Ok I am gonna critic, because I can.

first of all I think that the arm should have some kind of lines.

Then it does need shading to be perfect, and yes I know how hard it is, and I am still learning that myself.

Next the fingernails look like they are being ripped from the fingers. I know not nice but it's kinda true. I suggest you color them black or something.

Ok, the hand is conected to the arm kinda weird. It flows outward instead of straight like normal.

Anway on a lighter note, I do like this with a little more work.

Keep drawing
