Marianne
Chad was at the hospital, and the doctors wouldn't' let me in until he woke up. His parents were on the way, when the nurse said I could go see him.
"Don't you ever scare me like that again," I said when I ran to him. Immediately, tears started flowing down, but he still did not answer. I let go, trying to find his expression.
"Who are you?", he asked.
"What?" I was too confused to digest his words. I pulled away even more. "You don't know who I am?"
"Huh, no." He said, also confused.
"I..." How could he not remember me? After months?
The doctor walked in, and pulled me to a corner.
"The boy doesn't remember a thing. He has amnesia. We believe is only temporary."
I walked over to him, took a deep breath, and said, "Your name is Chad. I'm Marianne, or Maria as you called me." Tears burnt my eyes again. How could this be happening?
