Right now, it's really hard for me to find inspiration and to get in the right mind-set to write. The last work I've done was kind of rushed and forced out, I thought that would help me a bit to get over the writer's block. Wrong. Does anyone have any tips or advice of any sort to help with getting the feeling to get in the mind-set of writing and/or over coming writer's block? Please and thank you.
That's really the only advice that I can give. It won't take your writer's block away, but it will definitely put some holes in it. The rest is up to you.
Gone, gone from New York City,
where you gonna go with a head that empty?

where you gonna go with a heart that gone?
I suffered from writer's block for around four months, and recently haven broken that wall. Back when I had it, I had no inspiration and everything I churned out sounded choppy, and reminded me of a cardboard cutout. However, I broke it.
Just by reading a graphic novel.
Emiko Superstar, to be exact.
Instead of always reading text all the time, step out. Now Emiko Superstar was in no way life changing plot wise. It was the characters that really jumped out. Really, read anything that gives visually. The only thing I would not suggest is Batman, Superman, etc. They might be useful for you, however.
Learn stuff. I had been stuck on this one story (couldn't work out the characters) and then I read 45 Master Characters and came up with a bunch of ideas. When I'm stuck on the world (fantasy writer here) I learn more about the culture I base things off of.
In short, whatever element I am stuck on I simply learn more about. That gets my ideas going.
Another thing to do is find a really good song to write to and put it on "repeat" while you write. Amazing what music can do.
Hope I helped!
A writer is a world trapped in a person— Victor Hugo
Ink is blood. Paper is bandages. The wounded press books to their heart to know they're not alone.
You see, writers block is what I believe, a trick. The only way you can have it is if you believe you have it. Just because you can't find the right words for something or you don't have an idea doesn't mean you have some sort of mental block in your brain. It simply means you need to find the right words. Writing doesn't always come easily to people. You have to be in the moment to find the right words to say. The best solution I can give is to just write more. Don't stop because you think you have a problem. Instead, use it to propel you forward. Right more even if you think it sucks. You'll eventually find the words you were looking for and get back on track.
You cannot dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself into one.
The writer, when he is also an artist, is someone who admits what others don't dare reveal.
