My perfect autumn days
My cozy winter laze
I gave you too much of me.
And in the end it scares me so
To know I gave, and even though
You're rumored to be trustworthy.

I gave you my dancing fingers, dancing spirit, dancing love
As I waltzed down the hallway of my first grade memories.
I gave to you the precious recollection of the first book I'd ever written.

Now, trust is not so horrid
And I know that it's essential
But it's unequivocally risky
With a damaging potential.
And I know it wasn't obvious
Tied up with string and wrapped in gilded tissue paper,
But I gave you too much of me
And I can only pray it won't come back to haunt me later.

All those little coincidences
My secret love for picket fences
The little things I know and love --
I sent them with the greatest care;
My heart's suspended in the air
But now it sadly comes to push and shove.

I told you of my secret days, my secret goals, my secret life
And as I opened up the pages of my clandestine autobiography
I told you of my life and bestowed you with nearly every part of my soul.

Now, trust is not so horrid
And I know that it's essential
But it's unequivocally risky
With a damaging potential.
And I know it wasn't obvious
Tied up with string and wrapped in gilded tissue paper,
But I gave you too much of me
And I can only pray it won't come back to haunt me later.

What damage you could do with so little of my heart!
With one careless slip, my world could tear apart.
Be careful with my precious moments -- the life that I have lived and am living.
You can only go through so much betrayal and still remain forgiving.

And now to repair this --
Take back secrets you won't miss,
I'll leak a few out into the world.
They're no more your property
They're the public parts of me
My wings at last a little more unfurled.

The package that contained my joys, contained my hopes, contained my dreams --
It's no longer solely yours and in return I've taken the crumbs I had of your heart --
I can use them at the very least as
Ransom.

This song was awesome. I made a kinda heavy melody for it. I think you would have liked it. The emotions you brought were really strong in away. The rhyming was pretty good. You also had a nice beat. I am glad that I am the first one to comment on this song. You deserve a star.

And take you

^_^ Wow, thank you so much! I've got a little melody in my head for some parts, but not all of it. >_<;; Hehe, thanks for the support! <3

This poem tells how easily trust can be broken ^^ I like it. The word flow on some of the stanzas are a little bit, rough. Try picking words with care so they fit more. Each word is like a puzzle piece to a big picture. All you have to do is find the right ones!
You cannot dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself into one.

The writer, when he is also an artist, is someone who admits what others don't dare reveal.

^_^ Thanks, Shina. I know that the long stanzas {with the series of three things, blahblah} have no steady rhythm, but in my head I kind of imagined those as free-rhythm parts of the song, just sending out the emotions through words, maybe even without music behind some of the longer parts? >_< Neh, I dunno. xD It makes sense in my head. Thanks for your comment though! ^_^ <3

I loved this! I thought the imagery, the message, everything was awesomeness! One thing that made me frown a little was the meter and rhyme (or at least I think those are the terms). It was a little confusing, how the stanzas went from 6, to 3, to 7, back to 6, etc. Also, the rhymes themselves were good, just the pattern was again a little confusing. Like, "OK, it's AABCCB. No, wait, this stanza doesn't rhyme. But this one is ABCBDECE. No, wait, back to the first scheme. Wait, no, never mind." I'm not sure what you can do about all that stuff without totally changing the poem. Just for future reference, it isn't very helpful for readers with a migraine (coughmecough). Anyway, feel special, GOLD STAR!
So it goes.
