Hello and welcome to the site! We're glad to meet you. You can use this thread to talk to fellow newbies or whatever, or you can make your own post and get welcomed individually. We don't care. :P Anyway, as you probably guessed, this is a writing forum and we have thousands of members! Yet we're a really close bunch and we love everybody. ^^ I'm Snoink! I do have another name, but seriously, everybody knows me as Snoink. I'm a moderator of YWS (all moderators have green/red names), which means I help run things here. It's a kind of big site at first, but it's really fun, so don't worry. ^^ Almost all the members are wonderful people and if you bug them with questions, they'll be ready to help you with really anything at all. Also, if you encounter any problems, don't be afraid to contact the moderators (we're the ones with green names!) or the administrators (they're in red!) We're here to help you. :) Now, just to lay down rules, guidelines, and stuff: :arrow: We like proper English. That is, we don't substitute "da" for "the," we don't say "im" for "I'm," we don't say "u" for "you," and we expect you to capitalize each word of every sentence in your regular posts. Typos can happen, but don't start talking like you're texting. We're crazy like that. :arrow: We like black text. You'll see a bunch of people with crazy colored fonts... but they're weird. :P Stick with black and I'll love you forever. :arrow: We want you to rate your story or poem. That way, it can show up on the front page and everybody can see it. ^_^ If you have an f-word in your story or it's particularly explicit, rate it 18+. It won't show up on the front page, but people will know what they're getting into. Okay. So now that's done. XD Now, mingle! :D

Quite a few I would think. I never found it until recently, and I joined in March XD! I just go to the Memberlist at the bottom and say hi to everyone new who has joined. I guess I should also send them here to make some things easier...

Hiya!

I'm new to YWS (well... I joined a few days ago), and already I've had reviews, gifts, PM's, and posts, so to all you nice people... thank you

I'm 16 (real name: Bethan, not 'Empress'... surprisingly). Actually Empress is the name of my first novel, a science fiction space opera which I finished in June (it's 113,000ish words!) And I've recently sent it out to 15 literary agents! I'm now working on the sequel and also a new scifi fantasy series called 'The Nexus Key'!

I'm absolutely mad about writing, and hope to be an author (after going to Oxford University!) So I'm happy to chat to anyone about anything.

I predict I may become addicted to YWS...

Hi, my name's Velida(it spells similar to Dalinda),but everyone calls me Velly. I'm from a small country in Southern Europe and I speak 5 different languages. I prefer English, but it's not my first language.
I write poetry, but I'm also writing a novel (''One spring in St Petersburg'') . I turned 16 3 days ago but I feel like I'm 36 already , because I'm too boring to myself sometimes. I sing, and listen to punk and hard rock (GnR, Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Green Day etc)
I read mostly Agatha Christie. My favorite book is ''The pale horse''(Or maybe ''The secret of seven dials'')
