Without it, my parents wouldn't have met. Funny story, actually.

See, my uncle on my mother's side was on the same ship as my dad. My uncle was the designated tough guy, and my dad was the sarcastic one.

One day...

Uncle: Monty! My sister wanted to come to the formal. Save yourself and my sister some money and go together.

*Despite objections to dating any relatives of this jerk, dad accepts*

Mom ended up not showing. Yes. My dad's blind date stood him up before she saw him. They didn't even have facebook back then.

They met later. Their first date consisted of playing "Uno".

26 years later, here we are.

My grandpa was in the Navy but all my cousins are in the Army... so go both?
