Chinese socks vs. American socks

It is a pretty hard time for American Sock-makers. Chinese production of socks is currently at 670 million pairs a year. The Chinese are currently utilizing a clustering system that has all the products necessary for the production of socks in one place, which reduces shipping time. President Bush has imposed limits on the amount of socks that the Chinese can sell in the US. The question is: should the US take down the restrictions? Or should we keep our socks "American Made"?

Personally, I don't care if an American industry goes sour if the product/service that industry produces also has a domestic industry.

But come on, America is buying out the entire planet. Many of these "American" products are actually made in factories very pour countries.
